I never used to get the ping of death but lately I have been getting it alot. I have a ping of 45 - 60 on all of our servers but only lately I will be playing then boom 999 may last till I die and respawn and sometimes just keeps going connection interrputed etc. only this server though


Any Suggestions?

I've been having the same problem, but I know that part of mine is due to the fact that I run off a wireless router. If you have other people surfing the net or on-line in your house, this will also cause this to happen.

Make sure your anti-virus is not running at the time.

Check the windows task manager to see if there is other stuff running in the background.

Clear your cookies and your temp files.

Also run an ad-ware program to ensure you don't have other hidden watchers on your computer. I use ad-aware SE Personal.

See if this helps you out. If not think about moving to Chicago...LOL J/K

Try running pingplotter (www.pingplotter.com - get the free version from them, it's all you need). When you run it, then you'll know where the problem is, as it plots out the pings at each hop, from your computer, through each stop and all the way to the server.

We can't fix a problem until we identify the source.

I have the same issue - 999 ping until I die and respawn and then my ping goes back to normal.

I use end-it-all before connecting so I know that it's isn't from any programs that are running.

Seems to happen more when the server is full or near full - never happens Sat/Sun Mornings when only a hand full of people are on.

If you have a child (my son) who has a 360 Xbox live... it will hose the connection even if he is not playing online... make sure they disconnect the network cable when not online...

I'm thinking of ordering another high speed connection to be used exclusively by me ONLY for online gaming...

I believe this will solve the ultimate problem of multiple users hosing our connection...

Just remember that insanity is hereditary... you get it from your children!!!

LOL, I was thinking about hacking into Cross of Iron's network connection...haha
