Was there a discussion in MOB forum about this? Because in the Reg forum we had discussed it a while ago, but the general consensus was that while he did some irritating things, nothing was ban-worthy. MAybe kick worthy, but not total ban worthy.

There was some innuendo that he did something ban worthy, but nothing was ever mentioned in the Regs area.

I would just like some clarification.

I had the funniest feeling that you would post this MOD.

Yes, he is banned. He was banned on 9/29/2007 for multiple server rule violations including disobeying several MOB orders to switch teams to avoid team stacking. He was kicked SEVERAL times that evening before he was finally banned for not complying and unflattery language towards a MOB member.

Yes, he did. Don't quote me... but something like this:

Shadow was playing and goose continued to switch sides... I don't think he was playing with the name Goose... but I can't say for sure. Anyways after he continued to unbalance the teams and switch he was warned then kicked. He came back on and continued to do so. Hense he was kicked again. He did this a number of times and Steel was watching in spec. After Goose came back and said some choice words about Shadow and Goose was banned by Steel. Steel had also put in a comment to Goose prior to banning that he had to switch back to the other side as he was creating an imbalance to the teams.

He totally ignored her comment and she eventually banned him.

Well Goose continued to come in with different guids... several for that matter and they were banned as well. It was obvious that Goose has no intention of following the server rules and made it a point to unbalance the teams. He had no intention on following any of MOB's policies or procedures and ruined an entire game for several people.

Now, none of his accounts are banned in our forums, but it's a little ironic how he decided to create a whole new account with a dynamic IP and to come in here and post. Yes, this is the same person who never had the time of day to tell people why they were banned or respond to their posts when he was in MOB.

I backed Steel's ban 100%, and it's unfortunate that Shadow has been very busy and unable to play lately and Goose can come in and ruin his little time to play.

I totally seen this coming from him. He has been really pissed at MOB for that crap that happened with him long ago and really showed it in the games with me.

Not to mention those rumors I heard about him with the server crashes. I totally think a ban was definately warranted.

Just to clarify, he was playing under his regular name "Goosedown" at the time.

OK, I appreciate the explanation. The way it was left on the forum, it seemed he was never even kicked for team switching, so I was concerned we had gone from one extreme (no punishement) to ban in one step.

It is a shame. This guy bleed MOB for a while. But his temper and stubborness really got the best of him. If we were to go back a year, this whole situation would have been considered impossible.

A sad end.

My question is how did he do this? My second question is, why did this not reult in immediate ban? He was crashing our server intentionally and we had proof? I can't imagine a more automatically ban-worthy behavior.

Steel spent days trying to figure it out. She eventually moved it right out of the area, all MOB and Regs used to be able to reset the server if it went down. Steel spent sooo many hours (even all nighters) trying to figure it out, and once she did... she had already moved the server so the problem was solved.

It was just MOB giving him another chance since he could not cause the problem anymore. I guess we then figured, since he could not alter the server any longer... what else could he do.

Well, he found a way... and we wanted to ensure that our kicks or bans had nothing to do with his joining another clan. I think the headache he caused is finally done. And all according to our rules.

I know my post is a bit strong in his newest thread, but I also think that everyone should also be able to see his true colors.

To tell you the truth, when the server continued to crash... I really thought it had something to do with the box or server itself. He was the last person that I ever thought would do something like that, but the evidence spoke for itself.

In addition, I received a pm from a senior member of his clan.

They do not sanction his actions.

I was so pissed when I heard that he was so selfish that he kept restarting the server so that barb would run continuously that it was causing crashing. But it was too hard to prove 100% that it was indeed him. Thats why I was calling out for his ban to begin with.

The air quality around here is always better when you throw the trash out. Ahhh.

Is that what was happening? The server kept resetting when it switched to Italy? LOL! So this wasn't a vindictive move, the guy just didn't like Italy! Selfish and wrong in the extreme, but you have to admit, it was effective. Some of us campaign in the forum for switching the map to something else, he just resets the damn server!

Anyhooo, how's about we change the username/password for the webpage where we reset the servers? I don't think that has changed in ages. A while ago regular Barb was crashing a lot. I suspected it could have been BSS types simply stopping the server when they decided to leave (back before we banned most of them).

It was vindictive..because he knew everytime he reset it and crashed it that people would leave. The server was dying fast. If it wasn't for Steel's endless hours... the server would have been emptied. This was not just done one or two times by him, but enough times over weeks to know what he was doing. Looking at the Goose I see now, I am sure he got a few chuckles everytime it crashed.

I knew that in my earlier post that many were defending Goose because of how he was before. Shit, I liked Goose before all the crap happened as well. I know Goose did allot for some of us, I think he even gave a computer for someone to be able to play. He was a great guy. But that has changed. Its as though the evil sisth lord has converted him to the dark side or something, lol. He is a different person. Its as though he through a temper tantrum and didnt get his way so now we are seeing his bad side. Im glad he is gone. Maybe someday he will see what he has done as wrong and we can see the good ole goose of the past, but im glad that he is off the servers now.

Don't think for a second my post was any sort of defence. But it strikes me more as the actions of a person who just didn't give a crap about anyone else, he wanted the server to be Barb, so he switched it to Barb, irrespective of the fact that it meant other people left, etc. How it affected other people wasn't his concern. He wanted what he wanted.

And if you think about it, that describes Goosedown, even the Goosedown we liked, to a tee. I used to argue wth him about blowing R2 first on vent, and even though we'd laugh about it some and stuff, trust me, he kept blowing R2 because that's what he wanted.

How long was this going on?

So where was this thread where he came in and asked about the ban? Just wanted some good reading during a break

I'm close to suggesting that we develop a database to keep up with all this stuff - something that would serve as a single reference to the multitude of bans and warnings we issue as a clan, and contain names, GUIDs, dates, screenshots, relevent server logs, etc.

But too much like a business ... instead of a volunteer org.

Totally meaningless and disengenious. Any clan worth their weight in choclate chip cookies would kick out a member who purposely crashes another clans server among other things. I am actually a little bent that you would even post a "reply" by them.



BTW: Goosedown was on our forums about an hour ago. He read the responses to his Ban question.
