If you are having problems with your video card keep up the FPS, you may want to try these settings:

Video: 1024 x 768
Screen Refresh Rate: 60 Hz
Aspect Ratio : Auto
Anti-aliasing: 2x

Sync Every Frame: No
Dual Video Cards: No (unless you have two, of course)
Shadows: Yes
Specular Map: No
Depth of Field: No
Glow: No
Number of Dynamic Lights: Off
Soften Smoke Edges: No
Ragdoll: No
Bullet Impacts: Yes
Model Detail: Normal
Water Detail: Low

UNDER TEXTURE SETTINGS

Texture Filtering: Bilinear
Anisotropic Filtering: lowest (slide to left)
Texture Quality: Manual
Texture Resolution: Normal
Normal Map Resolution: Extra
Specular Map Resolution: Extra

Show your FPS and Lagometer by the following command in console:

cg_drawFPS simple (I believe cg_drawFPS 1 also works)
cg_drawFPSLables 1
cg_drawLagometer 1

Set your Max FPS and Max Packets per frame:

com_maxfps 85 (or 60 if you are not keeping up well at 85)
cl_maxpackets 60

All the above can be changed without effecting your rank.
If you have any other recommendations that you have tested, please pass them on and I will update this list.

Hi Mike up till today I had the settings of maxfps and maxpackets as listed above, now all of a sudden I am getting kicked from PB for losing key packets????

Any suggestions?

As well I was banned from a server =ASE= as they said there server was trying to take random screenshots of me as it does all players to make sure they are not cheating and the admin Poacher kept telling me mine were coming up black????
I have never heard of this nor could he offer me any advise, instead just permanently banned me sad.gif

I have the 1.4 patch and when I run the PB update it says I have the latest installed for COD4, seems i have to always manually run the progra to update, what a huge pain in the ASS PB is turning out to be in this release!!!! I never had any issues with PB and COD2 or UO mad.gif mad.gif

Gotta love little Hitler admins who ban ppl for nothing. What is the IP of that server. I think I'll go kill them repeatedly.

Wallace, typically when it says you're losing key packets, it means your internet connection is flaking out at that time. Could be just bad internet routing into that particular area where the server is located. Anyhoo, yes, then if you are losing key packets while pb is trying to take its random screenshots of you, they will turn out blank, 'cause it can't get the screenshots.

Hi William,

Sorry to hear about your ban, but we all know you would never cheat and we'll go to bat for you!!!

I know about connection problems, my puppy chewed on my antenna for my wireless internet connection and now my connection is very low causing me my computer to shut down in game. Either that or it just needs a good spring cleaning...lol

Feeling your pain,

T/A6Pak

6 I would say ask for a new router for christmas but it is too late lol, Get Cuda to get you a new router and tell him it is not for you but the dog needs a new chew toy so you will just give him your old router smile.gif
