If you can find an HD3870($219-239) From ATI!! Im an ATI Man
Kicking AssSorry, P - couldn't resist.....
Old Man MikeThe way I read the last page of this review the 38xx series is better bang for the buck than the 8800gt.
Well, let's take Big P's mid price for the HD3870 = $229
and a higher than average price for the 8800 GT superclock (8% faster than std 8800GT) = $299
with the faster clock, the benchmark for the 8800 GT will be up a little higher than the 8800 GTX reference.

Being conservative, I'll use 70 fps (will actually be around 73) for the 8800 GT and 49.4 fps for the HD3870.
So:
8800 GT cost 31% more but is more than 40% faster than the HD3870
How is the HD3870 better bang for the buck?
By the way, I have two of the 8800 GT cards in SLI and can confirm that they take less power, run faster, quieter and more reliable than any card (including the 8800 GTX) that I have owned. 3dmark06 benchmark is now over 16,200 and I run COD4 at 1920 x 1200 with all except AA at max with a 125 fps cap that never falls more than 5%.
