Obama lays smack down on Clinton. [s.Carolina]
My allegiance to H.Clinton's 'power' of getting her way started slipping when she voted in Senate last year to give Bush the all clear to strike Iran at his whim -ie, before the latest intel came out revealing the reality of nuke program there. Then her 'crying game' was a cheesy ploy, and finally her good cop/bad cop routine with Billy Boy throwing in sleazy nation dividing tactics into the contest was too much in my books.... So I can't get my preference 'Biden' so I'm swinging to Obama and his 'hope' for change to a new path for America- he's reaching out to bring everyone together compared to Clinton's pandering to demographics just for the pure sake of winning for themselves.

This things warming up bigtime- I'm still not sure if super Tuesday coming up will be the decisive factor -things can still swing around for everyone.
How are all of you finding the race lately?

I think Edwards needs to drop out. It's obviously a two person race for the Dem ticket. Right now, he's wasting millions of dollars that as he put it, "I just want to help all those less-fortunate in our country"... blah, drop out and send them money then.

Hillary is scared. I'm sure she thought she'd sweep through all the primaries and all the Dems would bow to her. The fact that Barack is giving her a real run, makes it interesting. She's starting to realize this is it... if she doesn't beat Obama, she'll never be president... well, unless the Republican party wins the election, then she can run again. I don't think she can wait 8 years though, if the Dems win.

All and all, I like Obama and his ideas more than Clinton's. Not that she'd be a horribly bad president, I'm just not sure about her past voting and then what she's promising... it's very hypocritical. Her plan to get all US forces out of Iraq in 60 days? Please. It just can't happen, even if we gave up and retreated... no way you can get that many people, equipment, etc out of a country that fast. Unless you went scorched earth.

I'm hoping Obama goes to the show and it'll be interesting to see who he chooses for a running mate. I liked Biden and think he'd fit in nicely.

Edwards has the Kingmaker/Queen maker role if super Tuesday turns out to be much closer than S.Carolina's whooping of the Clinton show. The problem is that a few weeks ago he promised to stay in the race until the end -perhaps only financial reasons can make him pulll out now.
Hillary has destroyed my faith in her in what I now see alot of my yankee cousins knew all along. As powerful as she is she easily turns on a dime just to weasel an ounce more of power. A few months ago she was readily admitting a fast pullout as her Dem rivals were suggesting was an impossibility. She says this now that she sees Ron Paul amongst the repubs being the only one popular with his non-warlike stance on Iraq -she's definately looking down the road -like a forward thinking chess player.
I have to admit though-as much as I puke at the Clinton's nation dividing tactics, to me, Obama's wife was the first to openly use manipulating race-card tactics at the outset of the campaign.

Well, I'm pretty blind to the race or other things that are in play. What it comes down to is we have one of the following candidates that have wildcards they can play;

Hillary - female vote riding healthcare
Obama - black vote riding national change (<--smart)
Huckabee - evangalistic and animal abuser vote
Romney - Mormon and illegal immigration vote
Gulliani - 9/11 vote
Edwards - ??? - Should move to hollywood and start filming a new series of Back to the Future movies as grown up Marty McFly.

Personally, all stances aside... I like Romney. He looks like a president. He talks like a president. I think Obama fills the above as well, but I'm a Republican, lol. Not that I won't vote for Obama. We'll see.

for some reason obama apeals to me . i dont know why. i had been a mccain fan for alot of years but hes changed his thinking over the years,imo. i personally think that when this administration is done ,no matter who takes affice itll be like the 70s ,guys taking the heat for past misdoings and abuses.

Thing is Pez imo -and I guess many others , before the Clinton's started pulling their 'code' tactics to bring Obama down to a minority leader from his national status, Clinton's had a huge chunk of the black vote - a vote based on preference and loyalty to Clinton's and not by loyalty by colour. I think the switch over to Obama is a well deserved kick in the clinton's nachos for divisive tactics- there's dirty politics/fair enough, but tearing a nation apart just to win is super sleazy.

The only thing I like about Romney so far was the clip of him looking like he wanted to smack the snot out of a reporter who bugged him about lobbyists in his team.... all he could settle for was hissing "Listen to me, Listen to me!!! You're not listening..." .... oh, and his hair looks perfect too!!!
I think only Romney and McCain will be duking it out pretty soon.
I think Hillary is going for 'Hispanic' but that might change with Kennedy supporting Obama now, he threatens that base Hillary was aiming for.
Obama rolling into unstoppable momentum - he doesn't say too many stupid things does he Undead- and in a class of his own as an orator. I heard an interestingly good comparison between his race with clinton compared to the movie Amadeus... Obama is the superstar Mozart getting the better of his well talented but stiff musical anti-hero rival Salierni [?]/Clinton.

All these voting block demographs are sad to see in play though; up here in Canada, there's no appealing to demographs like that -and yes we're a very mixed bag of cultures up here - All we just look at which bum isn't going to crucify us so much in our pockets,lol.

I believe there is definately a calling for change and this could trickle over into the Congress voting as well. Many people are starting to see that Clinton isn't about change. I think that she set out to prove that a woman could be a lawyer, congresswoman, and then president, starting back in the 70's. Nothing wrong with that at all, but her plan has been to go with the flow with the "boys club" to show them that she's just like them. That's not change at all.

I do like how Obama seems to be upfront with his skeletons, etc. When asked about smoking pot, "yes, I inhaled... that was the point" I thought that was great that he's owning up to it and moving on. Personally I don't think America cares about candidates pasts. We voted in Bill Clinton who evaded the draft and smoked pot. We voted in George Bush who was an alcoholic with DWIs and a cocaine charge. It should be about how they can help our country now, not 2 decades ago.
