It was entertaining for a bit, although for me Foy is a map best suited for BAS.
Then again, maybe it's just BAS is better suited for me. Since objective teamplay tends to hide
individual player weaknesses.

My biggest problem outside of a long absence from the game.
When I played last, I was playing on a normal 19" monitor.
Now I'm using a 24" wide screen.
It felt like it took FOREVER to turn and shot someone.
I tried speeding my mouse up a little to make up for the extra travel but then I end up over shooting
the target.

The mouse issue is the biggest challenge I have with UO BAS. A fast mouse helps tremendously when you are in a tank (believe it or not), but sucks when you are trying to gun someone down with your pistol. The fast mouse allows you to look in a 360 arc in an instant while the turret barely moves. This is ideal when you are looking for Some_Help trying to drop a satchel up your ass, but when you are out of the tank your aim is all over the place. Cross encouraged me to get a gaming mouse that could change resolution on the fly. That probably was the best solution, but I found if I simply ran at someone while I fired wildly, my chances of survival increased dramatically! LOL!

Get a gaming mouse with DPI settings on the mouse. The G5, G7, and G9 all have this from logitech. You can adjust it when you jump out with the click of one button.

You give your age away..... the days of 'goof/big goof' name calling are long gone AND it's not polite-tically correct! BWAhahahahaha.....

Anyways, honestly you were just getting warmed up... if you come there often you'll get in a good groove of high-killing regularly. You forgot my big tip-----> stay in tanks, at least until you get arty, then you can have the luxury of really goofing around on that server.... jeep kills, spawn arty, sniping spawns..... stay on foot too long and you'll miss out on the high score runs to be had -UNLESS you're a prodigy with a .44......

My trick in there is to look at the radar, see where enemy spawns, and attack them from the unbusiest flank according to the radar.
I find tdm on Foy without 88s is very skillful.... aiming at hulldown tanks of hills, scanning the battlefield for snipers picking you off, remaining cool in one-on-one duels, falling prey to expert riflers and machine gunners, resorting to pistol fights when ammo from machine guns emptied, rocking back and forth in tank duels to throw enmies aim off one critical shot, ambush spots etc etc., nope- tdm -and on that map does have an abundance of skill enhancing challenges.

My gaming options are all at low settings too.... all I have on as special fx, is blood spurts.
The low fx settings helps alot in close combat duels.

i played a few rounds on bos the ohter night and found it funny ,it was a norm for our (and dev i guess -a little) long range shots from the 88 . had a blast playing but it did take me a bit to get my weapons fire down.was fun,anyone orginizing a set night to fight it out u/o only im all in for tomorrow night at 9 pm!

I find myself over on BOS once in awhile too.



I can still crash a jeep like a madman.

I may just drop by BOS.

They have gone thru 3 name changes, plus picked up a few refugess's from other now defunked MOHAA clans.

I got in there around 11pm. I saw most of you- geno popped in for a cameo appearance too- things got busy there around midnight. I'll definately be there more often -its a fun server. Those 88s are a challenge for me.

With the new rig, you'll have to buy a copy of Frontlines: Fuel of War. I've been very impressed with it and I'm trying to get others interested so we can start fighting as a unit. Unique concept in this game allows four players to form a squad. You always respawn near the squad leader, even though you can be fighting in a massive online arena with 25 per side.

They have yet to produce the public version of the server software, but they promise it is coming soon. Right now we are restricted to public play on Kaos's servers, but fighting as a squad sounds like a great way for us to wade into the game together. I've added a thread to the MOB only forum at TheOtherMob.

Maybe this will give Pat some incentive to update his hardware as well.

Yes, I preordered and it arrived last week. They still don't have the public server software out, but you can play on their servers and a few select ones that have been chosen as beta testing sites for the MP server software.

Unfortunately there's a small problem there.
Seeing as how the MOB admins reported that I hacked the server box and caused countless hours of work and near daily problems for them.
I would assume that means I've been banned.
If I haven't been banned, then wouldn't that mean they don't believe their own bullshit?

Personally I haven't gone over to the 'otherside' nor revisited the servers -solely on principle. It'd be fun to form an revamped 'original' nucleus type of unit here though -small it may be.

ps. My hardware incentive revolves purely around cash liquidity Hamma -lol. You should try BOS server btw, re-assert your rule in your heavies there. I kinda got pooped with BAS missions though, too many noobs sitting next to bases not defusing or planting reminds me why I switched over to tdm play - my pressure thermostat remains at a healthy low level.

I just checked, to my surprise I haven't been banned.
I find that strange, since according to the admins I allegedly
1) Caused near daily problems
2) Countless hours of extra work for them
3) Magically sent out phantom Private Messages in the one and only's name, for the purpose of making her look bad.
4) Then my favorite, hacked the server box.
After accusing me of all that, for some dubious reason it didn't warrant a ban?

It would probably be best if we stuck to other servers. ( BoS, Happy Penguin, Blam, etc )

Blitz turned me onto this game a couple weeks ago. I went looking for it at the Best Buy.

Does anyone around here have it?

Call me crazy, but I LOVE it. Frontlines: Fuel of War single player has been a lot of fun. I keep replaying the early missions at the hardest levels just because it is so much fun. I love having access to UAV's. I can only imagine this would be an outstandingly fun game to play with a group of hard core players.

Cross and Jack have been playing ArmA and they seem equally excited. I need to find someone who has BOTH Frontlines: Fuel of War and the new ArmA. I guess I'll have to break down and order a copy myself.

Did you guys see Cory's announcement that TWL is officially ending COD:UO ladder play? End of an era. Time to find something else. I wish COD4 interested me, but I find it incredibly boring. I like more variety in my games.

Friday night would be fun. I'll see you all on BOS if I can get the time.



I just took a look at global server stats for ArmA and compared it to COD:UO. There were more than three times as many playing UO than were playing ArmA ... not a good sign.

Cod UO is a fps GAME



ARMA is an FPS combat sim......You die thats it, no healing unless you have a medic ...also the maps are 500KM SQ (real disatance) this is from the software VBS AND VBS2(of which you can buy at $1500 a pop plus $50 -$100 dollors for the "armies") used by the military to train recruits..

The MISSIONS can take from 30 mins - 5 hours to play (as it were) and ALL guns have real ballistics ...so to put it another way if your good at sniping IE can read bullet drop ,wind speed etc then you can hit and kill someone 1.5 k away....(if yer good).

ARMA sounds interesting, I may have to give it a try.
I really like the fact the demo allows you to try both the multi an single player.

Honestly, I only show up there because you guys are there. The nooblets on same team that hang around outside of a base being planted by enemy -or an empty one ready to plant does drive me nuts in BAS missions -another good reason I'm not using vent -haha. Unhealthy Blood Pressure thermostat rises-lol.

If you can, please hop, skip, and jump over to HP- Happy Penguin tdm 24/7 Foy - no 88s on the map -lotsa jeep racing around and jeep killing opportunities- not to mention an abundance of horrifically long spawn rapes.... and very fun nooby church battles if you're so inclined. Best times are afternoon EST weekdays and then after 10 pm on weekend nights.
