Not only will we be premiering in the Odeon, but the UK's Zone Horror (their regualr TV horror channel) will be showing it later and they have asked for UK distribution, including the Republic of Ireland. But wait, that's not all! They are pitching the distribution company, Wild Bunch, for world wide distribution!
This is all very exciting and I'm trying to keep my wits up because we haven't been going anywhere fast for a few years now. Now we've got this huge UK festival asking us to cancel our other fests so they can have world premiere rights and asking us to take the trailer off everything and give them exclusive rights to that as well. Now is not the time to blindly agree to everything.
They are also asking for the UK rights as commission for the world distribution they are pitching.
This is where I looked at my wife and said, "can we call your lawyer buddies about this".
Anyway, despite my paranoia that the world is out to get me, this is the best news we've had in ages and frankly if they stole our movie and made a fortune off it we'd still have our names on it and only be out a few thousand bucks or so. So, bring on the Festival!
By the way, what's the dollar to euro ratio these days....
