Want to know whats funny. I kind of already figured that out because the forum was updated.
If it was up the other other admins, they would have refused to do it and let the forums get hacked just because I'm the one who brought up the problem. Heated isn't as petty as them, which is why in my 1st post I purposefully noted I didn't include him in my review of the admins stupidity an pettiness.
While Heated might be the one who is taking care of the forum now. I know Mike is the one who originally paid $180 for the license and Steel did the setup. Also Mike/Steel are the ones who original setup the forum to use the stupid admin authorize on new accounts. Which I see Heated has been smart enough to change back to email activation like every other forum on the planet.
So here is an interesting question.
If I was smart enough to be right about Overheated. Doesn't that also mean I'm right about the other ones?
I don't expect an answer, we'll just leave that question hanging out there.
Out of respect for Heated, I'll leave him with this extra advice.
While updating the forum will prevent some script kiddy from easily hacking the forum. The update did zero to prevent automated spam-bots. The newer updated version of the forum does comes with the option of using CAPTCHA in place of the simpler word/graphic challenge to keep out bots. For a long time CAPTCHA was the gold standard but it's not anymore. If you do a search you will see it's now been bypassed. Your best option to prevent the spam-bots is the same suggested fix for the old version.
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=288234Switch the backgrounds and fonts used in the image verification.
Also enable the Question and Answer Verification system.
Do those two things an you'll never have another automated spam-bot register. You may still have the random person sign up an do a spam post but those 2 changes will block 100% of the automated bots.
There Geno, does that prove I've got nothing against the rest of the members?
As for the rest of this....
QUOTE(Genocide Junkie @ 03/14/09 4:24pm)

Err. Then do it? You guys are like the employee who thinks they can't be replaced. Fact is you quit YEARS ago and we're still kicking along. So when exactly did we stop being {MOB}? When you guys quit? Or when TLD left? Or when BSS left? When the clan was so broke you had to pay the entire payment? When Druid wouldn't turn over the website? Things were WAY better when......
If you need, I will be happy to point out several post here I've said the admins had little to do with the success MOB. I've previously said before that I thought I had little to do with success. Do I need to search for the post to prove it to you? I would hope not but if you feel the need I will be more than happy to. In fact, I think the only admin who I ever credited with the success for MOB was F_K, the game server admin prior to me joining. Not only did he do a fantastic job, without him, MOB probably never would have grown beyond a few friends playing in a random public server.
As for the rest of your post.
Did it stop being MOB when TLD left? No. but it was a blow to the OGL team at the time. I would have to say one of MOB's OGL team brightest moment on the ladder would be when MOB won it's 1st match against TLD.
Did it stop being MOB when when BsS left. Hell NO.
Did it stop being MOB when I left? Hell NO.
Did it stop being MOB when RealDeal left. Hell NO but some people proved to be total fucking ingrates in the discussion that took place when he asked the copied website be removed.
You asked when it stop being MOB. That's simple......
* It stopped being MOB when the servers started being ran into the ground for a variety of reasons. This started taking place long before the move and was one of the reason I left but it still goes on to this very day. Your rules tell people to ask on the forums if they think they were wrongly kicked or banned. Twice I've seen people sign up and ask about a kick, both times when I checked back the post an accounts were deleted.
* It stopped being MOB when for several different reasons accountability went out the window.
* It stopped being MOB when the admins started blackmailing members to do this or that, otherwise they were going to be out of luck if they needed anything done.
* It stopped being MOB when on multiple occasions an admin attacks another member an nothing is said or done about it.
* It stopped being MOB when discussions no longer happened about things that effect the group as a whole.
* It stopped being MOB when topics are deleted in a lame ass attempt to hide what a lying, narcissistic, manipulative P.O.S. Steel is.
* It stopped being MOB went people lost the guts to ask about these kinds of things because they are now left with the feeling they have to go along to get along or worse people feel they can't say anything or Steel will freak out an quit
AGIAN.
* It stopped being MOB when people know they are being lied to but refuse to say anything.
I realize everything I just said is my own personal opinion an probably doesn't mean anything to you or anyone else. The fact it doesn't mean anything to anyone else is the saddest part of this. The overwhelming apathy from everyone is what I will never understand.
I'm sorry if this pisses you off Geno. I hate that it puts you on the defensive because that's the last thing I want to do. You don't like me now, that unfortunate but it's not going to change my opinion or stop me from speaking my mind. You thought you had some great point to make about my refusal to sign over the domain. Sorry but I was completely upfront and honest about that long before you even brought it up. More upfront an honest in my reply than any reply you ever received on any issue you bothered to question the admins about.
