Hello, Friends smile.gif

I've been playing a lot of multiplayer CoD... sigh... and I'm just not doing very well at it. I seem to get maybe one or two kills for every ten deaths. Or sometimes worse. ugh. tongue.gif

I play Team DM... and today it really dawned on me how horribly I handicap whatever team I'm on. It's hard to win when you spot the other guy 8 or 10 points right off the bat. Do servers ever kick you for sucking, btw?

Is there a map that's better as a learning map? What should I do? Take up Shuffleboard? But it's getting rather tedious.

Any suggestions? (Be kind!)

best,

i havent been playing COD but what i here is it like Mohaa same rule applies hug the corners and show as little as possible
Ktulu
I think that rule applies to every FPS.

I'm having a trouble doing well with COD too. Haven"t broken even yet.

Keep in mind I'm probably worse than any of you, but here is what I found to be important. Some of this I didn't really notice until I started testing for our mod.

The big differences between COD and MOHAA
Movement has a huge impact on your accuracy. The more you move the less accurate your weapon is.
Short controlled burst is 10 times more important in COD, otherwise it's spray and pray with the emphasis on pray.
When ever possible, try and shoot using the gun site. It makes a world of difference.A good way to see just how much of a difference it makes is back 30-40 feet from a building and let loose using the crosshair. Then do the same using the iron site. The bullet pattern using the crosshair is easily 50% bigger than when using the iron site.
Find where the true aim is using the gun site by popping of a few rounds as far away from a wall as you can be, while still being able to see where your bullets hit.

It does take some getting use to, but after a while you'll be right on track.

One thing I noticed is that you MUST fire in short bursts....full auto and you wont hit a darn thing.

What I did was play Search and Destroy for a while.....for me it makes me slow my game down and concentrate more. Even after you are dead it is good to watch the other guys play and pick up hints and learn the maps.

Beleive me, S+D is not my thing....TDM is were its at, but it did help my gameplay.

Ok smile.gif

Good suggestions, and thank you... I've been trying them.

I play Team DM, too... not that I do well, but it's encouraging to see some team mates. smile.gif

What's a good basic Newbie setup? Some maps and weapons are harder to master than others... but what's a good way for me (and apparently a few others) to get a handle on this? Can you suggest:

1) Simple map
2) Simple weapon
3) Simple game style? (Assuming TDM, but... I dunno, really!)
4) Simple plan

All I want is to get a few kills... if I could finish up a game with 3 or 4 kills, I'd feel pretty good for the night. smile.gif

I also like the team markers ON and the friendly fire OFF. (is that a decent Newbie approach?) I also like 'no sniper rifles'... but I know that those were a real part of the historical conflict... sigh. smile.gif

Any more advice? I'm trying to get good enough so that it's 'fun'... and I don't start flinching just logging on. tongue.gif

best,

grrrr... maybe there's a reason they don't send 54 year old geezers into combat!
