If it were a DOS based application the resources would be minimal....

When I first installed Missionary and ran it the first 4 or 5 times I got lag. Now it seems it has gone away. Once your verified as being good the lag should go away. I had a problem one time with Kazaa. It was'nt running
I thought, but its spyware was. Run some free programs off the net at download.com called ad-aware, Spybot search and destroy or the one by panicware.com andsee if that does'nt help. Also' Im running a Athlon XP 2600 with a gig of ram and a nvidia FX 5900 graphics card. What kind of system are you running?

I completely disable my anti-virus and my firewall before I enter the server....the game acually runs better for me know than it ever has
realdeal
The only lag I got was before I immuned the reccomended files from my anti-virus program. Also, make sure you don't have any other programs running in the background.

The directories and file you need to immune from your anti-virus are:
MOHAA directory
MISSIONARY Directory
MISSIONARY.EXE

I run Command anti-virus it only searches for files on the "virus list" which is updated daily. It only functions on program starts and e-mail and downloads,it has no problems with the encrypted Missionary!

I may be wrong because I've never used Command Anti-virus but the default settings would actually scan the .exe files in the mohaa and missionary directory.
Command uses Dynamic Virus protection, which scans all .exe files when accessed and probably any compressed files the .exe accesses.

Even though you don't have the problem of missionary reading a valid stock .pk3 (pak2.pk3) as bad. I would be curious to see if adding missionary.exe and the mohaa directory to the ignore list had any effect on your reported lag.

You can make the changes at
