Im seeing every time Missionary gets updated the amount of lag gets worse. It use to be when you were verified the lag went away. Now it seems to never go away. Anybody else having this problem.

Full Version: Missionary Lag
"Lag" seems to increase when we have Missionary mandatory times, there is a constant stream of players loading & being kicked during mandatory sessions.
To me it just seems that the more updates that are made the worse the gameplay gets.
Uploaded to the latest version today .165 and slowed my whole computer down to the point where I had to turn off the power to get it back to normal.Went back to .040 again .I may never up date again. You know we all don't like cheating but this is really becoming annoying.First the Mohaa exe fails then open GL Fails the more it tries to be fixed the more that goes wrong. I believe we are now beyond the point of turn off your anti-virus.Some of you guys don't have a problem and that is great ,but i think a lot of people are.
I would have to agree with LOM on this, version 151.155 - 151.165 ran horrible for me.

What's the point of all the updates then? Will it come to a point where not updating would keep us from connecting? Will we ever get an error that says "Not using most current version, please upgrade"? What exactly have they been updating (features and what not)?
I set what the oldest version number is that can connect.

Like Johnzillah, I've been getting frequent LAG SPIKES during gameplay. The missionary version on my computer is ...... .30
Looks like I spoke to soon, the newest update took care of my lag problems.

Yeah the latest update 175 seemed to fix the lag that I was experiencing yesterday.
Well up graded to 175 again had to turn my machine off to get control back mouse just would not respond right.When I ran .175 got Mohaa exe fail [SIZE=14]Again[SIZE=1].Thanks Druid for 140 it was the last version that worked for me and now I have a copy .Mayhem if you read this Thank You for you help. I know Missionary is really trying to help but I say again it seems to be causing a lot of problems .I am just one of many . I know we post during the game where to get help but I'm willing to bet only a small percent try to work it out the others say to hell with it and move on.
Just got the new one and it does seem to work better.

The new one works great. At first the lag was still there but the more i played it seemed as once again it just needed to be broken in.

In my opinion, the PROS far outweigh the CONS.
I upgraded last night, and still experienced a number of major lag spikes.

Honestly, yeah the lag sucks...big time. But it's the same thing I told another person who was saying Missionary sucks & blah blah blah, it's better to do something proactive about the rampant cheating than nothing at all. I mean really all of us complain about the cheating, than a program comes out that takes care of that problem; & then we complain about the program, is it perfect...no. However it's better than nothing.
Its simple human nature: Once a person can no longer complain about something, they find something else to complain about
Everyone agreed we need an anti cheat program & currently Missionary is the best solution, we need to support the Missionary effort & try to report issues & suggest fixes without complaining, take the attitude of a program beta tester & report detailed issues & system specs need to be posted on every complaint!!!

Its even more frustrating jumping onto the server when I find time away from my infant son to find a server being ruined by 13 year old n00b hackers.

It all frustration I say I will never up date but you know I will because I want it to work to.However I am luckier then some .I have older a version that I know works and fall back on.The last two up dates yesterday that Bart put out not only didn't work but somehow effected my whole computer to were I had to turn it off to re-boot it.Now you take a new player on our servers likes the server and tries to install Missionary and has the same problems that I had.He has no other version to fall back on so. He tell himself to hell with this program if its not going to work and screw up my machine I may want to go somewhere else.Maybe we should have a few different versions to download just if that happens.

I've been awol for over a month now but as I frequent the boards I notice almost everyday people are still having problems. Real yes the pros do outweigh the cons once you're into the game for most regulars. But as LOM pointed out, we lose support for Missionary every time someone new, wether a noob or not, tries using the program and fails. And this isn't skin deep either. We don't just lose the people from the server to make it worthwhile for MOB to shell out money for its operation. Bad publicity about the program seeps out. Last weekend I played some games at a friends house on some bs server. Not a single person over the course of two hours had even heard of the program albeit one player who had heard it sucked. I told him it was in the best interest of the mohaa community to support and he blew me off. Just some food for thought...fuck cheaters. 
The newest update changed something in the program.. I noticed it logs a number. The lag sure did stop for me somewhat than the previous updtate. I ran the game the other day without Missionary and it seemed to play the same. Whatever Bart did, its far better that previous versions.

Although it's true some people still have a problem with missionary. I've received 2 emails for every post on here about missionary problems. From the emails, I can tell you the number one reason people have problems is they don't take 30 seconds and read the missionary help file. The majority of people who ran into problems, did so because they didn't exclude missionary from their anti-virus.
The second most common complaint is lag. I'm the 1st person to agree there have been some lag issues with missionary, 3 of the recent versions made the game unplayable for me. Since I'm the one running the server, I have a different perspective when it comes to someone complaining about lag. Think about it this way, before missionary how many people every day would say they were laggy? I still see people on the the server everyday without missionary saying the server is laggy. Only two things can cause lag server side, CPU choke or a network problem at the box. If it was either one of these problems, the lag would effect everyone and not just a single player. 99% of the time it's a problem along their network route to the server. From my experience, any lag related to missionary is VERY noticeable because unlike network lag it stays constant. I would be willing to bet half of the people who complain about missionary being laggy are the same ones who complained about lag without it. I've no doubt when some people experience random lag they jump to the conclusion missionary is cause. When the truth is they experienced random lag long before missionary was around.
Druid I understand man and I totally agree; I hope you didnt take what I said the wrong way? Whenever I pick the game back up I'll support it without a doubt. BTW my ping was always great before Missionary and was never exceptionally bad, as it seems it can be of late, when I was running Missionary. Trudge on guys. 
Personally...I am trying hard for my missionary to work but I get hung up on 4.1... im in a different prob and can't even start it but still i agree that a lot of people like myself are getting really P.O.ed at this program and i am ready to just about give up...

If all you guys find Missionary to become more of a hassel then what it's worth then why make it a mandatory thing... it's just becoming inconvinient I mean... First it doesn't work then when it finally does what it's gonna slow my computer down... nevermind that, I mean I love playing in the MOB servers they're like the only servers I go to so I'm guarenteed a fun game. But I mean we're just having endless amounts of problems here... that's just my two sense

You'll never see me say missionary doesn't have issues. I think most people who use it have wanted to put their fist through their monitor atleast once ( I know I have ). Missionary is a work in progress, without people using it now, improvements would be much slower or never happen at all.
Any current missionary problems are far out-weighted by the cheat free gaming it provides. I'm sure some people disagree with me and thats fine, everyone is welcome to their opinion.

Hey guys on the newest version of Missionary .70 or w/e I have been gettin less lag like A LOT less...but still its like for the first 10 mins or so when im NOT verified yet I have ZERO lag...and then when i get verified the lag kicks in...now i know u work ur asses off for this program...but is there any way to just make it not have to verify us and that would solve the lag problem?
