Sup MOB and regs, I thought I would post in the forum in tribute to Pat Tillman. In case you haven't heard, Pat Tillman was a up and comming NFL football player who played safety with the Arizona Cardinals. After September 11 he gave up his multi-million dollar contract and his pro footbal career to enlist in the army and become an army ranger. He had since been serving in Afganistan, combating the war on terrorism.
Sadly, yesterday (Thursday April 22) his group was ambushed while on patrol. In the insuming firefight he was struck and killed. This is a recent released today. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor...rian&id=1788533
This guy was all balls and them some. He was once asked why he would give up his multi-million dollar contract to join the rangers. He responded by saying, "My grandfather served and was involved in Pearl Harbor and I have other relatives that have served in other things but me, I haven't done a damn thing. I want to give something back".
He was a class act and a real, true patriot and my hat goes off to him as well as sypathies to his family.
I know that many americans have already lost their lives while fighting in the war on terrorism and I look up to each and everyone of them. Please don't think that this posting takes anything away from them, however, I wanted to post this story because it related a little closer to home.
