As mentioned a few days ago MOB is adding an extra benefit for those who use missionary.
We are setting up a way for Missionary users to message the server if they are unable to get in when the server is full. The message will be displayed in the server chat, if a Server Admin is on they will kick the highest ping non-missionary user to make room for the player using missionary.
This will be done as easily as the player clicking an icon on their desktop.

This benefits will hopefully be.
Give non-missionary users one more reason to start using it.
Give missionary users the attention and appreciation they deserve.
Result in more missionary users on the server, this way making the server that much better of a place to play.

A few details to cover.
Each person must use missionary to join the server this way. Anyone doing otherwise will be banned from the server. If anyone is concerned about those times when you use missionary but don't show up in the list, don't worry. I can always verify if you were actually using missionary in the server logs.
This will not be a 100% sure way to join the server, it requires a MOB member to be in the server and able to kick a player to make room for you. This will become a smaller problem as we add new members. You will be able to see if an admin is on the server via the server status window inside of missionary.
You cannot give this out to other players as a way for them to join the server.
It's easily tracked who uses it so don't think we won't notice.

Before I make this open to everyone, I need to do a little final testing.
The testing period is open to the 1st 10 people who meet these requirement.
1) 100% missionary user
2) A regular on our server for at least 1 month

If you meet these 2 simple requirements and would like to help with the testing.
Send an email to missionary#mobclan.com
In the email include,
The name you use while playing on our server
Your IP address
How long you have been using missionary on our server.

I will setup these 1st 10 people over the next few days and then will se how it goes from there.

Also as mentioned earlier we will be setting something up for the MAC users who are regulars on the server. D_silver will be helping me with this over the next few days.

Uh, hate to sound stupid, but, how do I find my IP adress. I know I've seen it somewhere, but not sure where to find it again. As soon as I do I'll be glad to be a guinea pig.

or you can go into you comand prompt and type ipconfig

If they are behind a router like most people it will show their private IP ( 192.168.*.* ) not their real one.

Ha! I just remembered where to find mine. All I have to do is put the pointer over the connection icon on my toolbar. It gives me all the info I need.

I'm still hoping to get this test rolled out the door by tomorrow but there is a chance I will be unable to finish before I leave for work.

Just like with everything there is always another problem to take care of.
While testing I find a lack of reliability in one of the scripts.
Soon as I take care of that I'll send it out to the testers.

I'm not sure if I've attempted this correctly...
I downloaded the message, but the server wasn't full, and there were no MOB players there. But I thought I'd test it anyway. So with Miss. opened I clicked the link, then connected. When I connected, no one saw any message about me trying to connect. I know this isn't the way it was intended to be used, but I wanted to try it out, I couldn't wait. i will probably try Sunday for an official, "server is full" trial. To clarify, I was not in the waiting to connect mode. I just opened Miss. and hit the link. I guess this must make a differance.
Anyway, would you please explain the step by step process again. It just seems too easy. Nothing is ever this easy. Please humor me and repeat what you wrote in the email. Thanks

Your not going to see the message after you join the server.
I tested them all last night and they worked.
If you want to try it again, get on goodfellas and hit Alt-Enter to make MOHAA a window.
Then click on the desktop link.
Switch back to MOHAA and you'll see the messages in the chat are.
You can switch MOHAA back to full screen by hitting Alt-Enater agian.

Druid, the program works perfectly. I tried to get on Goodfellas, the server was full, I cliked the link, a few seconds later Real booted some poor unfortunate fool, and I was in! Awesome. I really feel privilaged.
