we have to protect them, regardless of cost. the also know that an attack of that magnitude would bring extreme intended results from across the board. i would be willing to make that sacrifice. to be free is the breath of life.
Taiwan is like Israel, a pain in the ass. With that being said, Taiwan is a very important economic partner. It's loss would certainly hurt the American consumer market.
Although I really don't expect this to escalate any further, I had hoped that I (at 33) was the last generation that had to worry about nuclear war. I have a brother that is 10 years younger than me who never really knew a Soviet Union. He never had to worry about being "nuked". He has never watched Red Dawn. He can't remember when there was an East and West Germany. I can't believe that I now have to worry that my kids will grow up in a world where they may have to worry about "nukes" again.
It's bad enough they are going to grow up in a world where anyone walking by them may be strapped with dynamite or worse.
