just got back from a trip today from Mexico with my youth group from my church. but what i(we) did was a life changing experience we saved $10,000+ over 2-3 months by car washes sales etc but we spent $3,000 on food and bout $1,000 on tooth brushes/shampoo/soap all that good stuff and we sacked all this stuff in a bout 300 bags and went in to the ghetto in Acuna and gave out all these things we also gave out shoes and food. its heart breaking how these people live they make me feel like a millionair. but all the work we did it was 100% worthet! but there is so much more we did but i dont to bore yall with my blabber so if you wont more details just x fire me or PM.
i would just like to ask every one to keep these people in your prayers.

Yeah its pretty bad in some places down there. I had a professor in college who was originally from Mexico. He went back and lived for a couple of years in whats called the "dump" outside Tijuana. He wrote several books about his experiences there. Very disheartening to say the least. If anyone would like, the book is
By the Lake of Sleeping Children. It's one of the few books I've read that got me choked up.
