Sup.
My Son now has COD2, here is the prob I have my main PC plugged into my $400 netgear router (not the cheapo ones) I have a orinoco access point hanging off that giving my son wireless to his PC upstairs which works great
the problem is either one of us keeps getting Awaiting connection error just keeps counting if we both try to play at once. I am on Bell DSL as well.
We both played the MOB server and did so for 2 games then the next map load I got awaiting conn.
This is not just a MOB server specific issue it is any server.
Do I have to setup packet forwarding or something?
I beleive 440Cuda has 3 PC's running COD2 without any issues.
Can anyone please help?????
Thanks.
Let me make sure I have this right.
both of you can play but not at the same time?
Is this just for COD2 or will COD:UO work?
There is a chance this might just be a problem with Activsion's master server list.
It happens every now and then, when it does happen, you'll will get stuck at the "Awaiting connection" screen.
The fact you said both of you played 2 games together before the problem happend, makes me think it's not on your end.
sounds like your connection fluctuator is out. you need 2 new computers

We can both play but not on the same server. I can play MOB and my son can play another server. When we try to play the same server one of us gets Awaiting Connection...........A couple of times we have been on togeather but when a new map starts the problem happens again.
I think this is the answer you're looking for, although you may not like it.
You have to buy 2 COD2 games. The key code on one lets you play on one server. This means the server will only allow one of you on the server at one time. With two different key codes both of you can play on the same server at the same time.
If your son has a friend who does not play on the MOB server, maybe you could use his key code.
We purchased 2 COD2...and 2 of every game that we play together on-line. With 3 computers...you need 3 different key codes....it can get expensive.
This will hopefully solve your problem..I know that the COD2 has really dropped in price. You can also check on-line for a good price. I would not suggest getting a used one, as someone has probably activated the key code or passed it on, which could cause problems for you.
Hope this helps.

Done that already Cuda thanks though. We have always had two brand new copies of COD2.
I even updated my router today but still had the same affect. Do I need to put one of the PC's in a DMZ???
Could it be a routing issue getting the packets to two different machines?
Make sure the game isn't listed as a shared file between the two computers. We have the Linksys Wireless G 2.4 Ghz with speedbooster. I'll give my buddy a call. He set up ours...he plays on MOB servers as COD2Over40. He owns a computer company and is a wealth of info. I'll forward your info to him in an email and see what he says. Hopefully we can have it fixed by tomorrow for yea.
Can I give him your email address so he can email you directly??

Could it be something to do with the ports?
