On the T. Forest Beta 3, any tiem i get near water, my games legs down to 2-4 fps.

His this happened to anyone else. It seems like the water is hi quality and i have all my settings turned down low. I usaly run at 30fps. The only way i can get across water now it to ride along with someone and have them drive me acrose. Anything I can do to fix or inprove this problem?

it would appear your pc fears water! the only way to remedy this problem is to slowly accustomize your computer to it by dripping 2 to 3 drops of water straight onto your video card twice a day for two weeks. at the end of this process if things haven't improved, seek a new pc immediately!

This is the old fix, Canuck.

The new manuals clearly state that if your computer suffers from a fear of water, you must first unplug all electrical cords from the machine and then submerge the entire machine for 10-15 minutes in a tub of warm water. This allows the entire machine to become acclimated and not just the video card. You should see your frame rates change considerably and don't ask mom or dad before doing this. Surprise them, you will be glad you did! tongue.gif

Ok, ok, the bottom line is you don't quite have enough machine/video to run the map smoothly, especially around the water.

Water is a complex image and graphic cards have to work very hard to draw water so it appears like water on your monitor. If your processor cannot process this information fast enough, or your video card can't draw the images fast enough, you experience bottlenecks, therefore slowing your computer down dramatically.

The fix; First of all, turn down all in-game settings to the lowest available setting, including sound quality (not volume). Make sure all unnecessary background services on your machine are turned off including any anti-virus/anti-spyware software. Try that. If you still have problems, post your machine specs here and we can post some prices suggestions to remedy the situation.

I've done most of that already. It was jest that I use to not have problems on this map.

I am wondering if because i have a beta graphics driver, if it is trying to use an advanced feature to render water. Problem is if I install the original driver, I then won't be able to use Cod2.

Hmmm, you didn't have the problem before. Installed new BETA driver, and now you have problem......I think I see a pattern here.

You should sign up for their beta tester program and report your findings to your video mfgr. Perhaps when they release the final for that particular driver you won't experience that problem.

Double check the settings for the video card itself and turn those settings down as well. See what happens. Also, COD2 has an option to use different Direct X versions, if I'm not mistaken. Perhaps that is your issue here, because I can't believe you have problems on Tuchola Forest, but can run COD2 just fine. Should be the other way around. Check which direct X version you are using and make sure it's the latest version for CODUO.

Otherwise, I would say uninstall the driver and re-install the one that works for you. Then, re-set everything for COD2 using the known good driver. Good luck with that!

No, the water didn't change. The changes from beta 2 to beta 3 were in the areas of fixing holes in the map, lowering a couple of bases, and re-adjusting some foliage, among other minor fixes. The water has always been the way it is.

I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal... People know me, I'm very important. I have many, leather bound books, and my apartment smells of rich Mahogony.

True enough. Every post here doesn't contain an accumulation of F-bombs. Must be a breath of fresh air for you! Come back often, if you like.
