Not to take anything away from the MOD weapons Barb (and other maps on that server). I sure do miss regular sniper rilfes and just getting smoked by Abuse by a bolt action. So, is it just me? Ok, let me have it, i can take the abuse.

I miss playing Tuc,barb and even stock maps anything is better than modern weapon mods.By the way had a great time on stock maps last night lotta fun good games.

Lol Shazbot, I have been Smoked by you plenty of times on Barb and the forest as well. I think when the new wears off of modern weapons Barb the old Barb will be rocking again. The modern weapons base server is really cool and Steel has done a tremendous job bringing it to us. Thank you Steel. It will not be long before the regular Barb and the Forest is kicking again............Atleast until MOHAA Airbourne comes out in August.........

Don't get me wrong, the server totally kick ass. It's the first "new" server besides Tuch, Barb and Stocks that is always populated (completely full i might add). Steel has done an amazing job, guess I'm just being nostalgic - sob - weep - sob!

It's a very different style game. Much faster, requires more "skills" and less hard work/dedication. I am afraid we will lose some Regs of Barb, but such is life I suppose.

It would really hurt the higher ping players (or slower reflex crowd) who used to make up for it by mostly staying in tanks and/or mastering pak shots. Also, the WW2 buffs miss it too I'm sure.

Personally, I like both. It will be interesting to see if original Barb makes a comeback over time.

Stocks is a great place to come by and get a flavor for the old weapons. Plus the maps rotate so you won't feel like a gerbil running in a cage.

i wish the forest was still alive. as for mod sever its ok if your a unreal torment player. stocks is always good to start the day on. i guess alota people enjoy that super fast game play so it just might kill off barb for awhile or for good.

You're not the only one Shaz. I miss it a great deal. I miss stock maps as well. Up until last night stocks has been a ghost town since modern weapons took over. I play 90% on CSA stocks anymore. Almost the same as our stocks except some maps only go one round and I think Ponyri is in the rotation twice. Some very good players there too.

Yeah, I miss old-school Barb. But I enjoy the fast paced action provided by the Modern Weapons BAS mod - although it's just mindless killing, not as much strategy involved.

Oh, I also like the fact that tank and pak whores arent as prevalent!

I miss the old Barb. It would be better if the mod was on a 24/7 Barb for me anyways.

I miss NOT being shot from half way across the map.
