I found this video to be quite chilling>

The way governments are destableised and reeducated over long periods of time.

A sort of brain washing of a population. The way they operate to gain full control of a population or government and then eliminate the very people who were used by the KGB to gain this control within that country.

Please watch the entire video its about 13 min long.In the latter parts of the video you may ask your self is this really happening here in the U.S.A.

Interesting video.

I can apply everything 'Mr.Forboding' said about supposedly stupid American citizens as he portrayed it, to what the neocons have been doing the last eight years.
First they demoralise the nation, then try and brainwash the population into the idea that the neocons in power can do no wrong. Those that spoke up were denounced as non-patriots and attacked. Large organiztions who spoke up to tell the truth were attacked as political enemies of the State and conspirators - including the Media and politicians and the average citizen who dared ask questions as to why the neocons slowly took steps to erode personal freedoms, and engineered secret police activities to snatch citizens from airports without due process and to tap into phone conversations without court orders. If all that Neo-con subversion does not ring true of a slow conversion to a idealogy State similar to an authority-crackdown regime similar to Soviet system or Iranian Cleric system then the Repubs not seeing that here certainly are the ones as defined by 'Mr.Forboding' as having the wool pulled over there eyes.

It's interesting how people with his views immediately like to group left-leaning supporters as a group of ignorant people who are gullable and are incapable of reading issues in depth and determining why they support the things that they do in life. They also then put themselves on a soapbox as knowing all the real answers and knowing what's really going on in the world. They then venture into the idea anyone with ideas other than their own are utterly without hope.
I find those arrogant twits very annoying. They need to get a reality check on how people individually can make up their own minds. I'm sure the clip is from the 80s so perhaps Mr.Forboding would have a different idea of how the way the world works if he saw what the consequences were from having 8 years of non-left/right of central power in place.

Fortunately Americans did not buy into the neocon attempt to subvert them into becoming fear mongerors and isolationists - fortunately people + the media kept questioning and questioning the Bush admin's leaning towards an authorative State in spite of the 'anti-patriot' hurdles thrown at them. The lunatic right wingers on youtube have materialized the reason why Americans chose not to continue to slide down the slippery slope of neocon demoraliztion .... when you see those nutcase neocons post clips that equate Obama standing in front of cheering crowds to him being Hitler laugh.gif and his comment 'spreading the wealth' meaning marxism, while Palin's 'share the wealth' statement has no similar bitter criticism by the Righties, then its not hard to figure out that common sense should prevail over fear-mongering fanciful ideas; as put forth by the ex-KGB member taking cheapshots against the American Centralists and Leftists who themselves make informed and educated individual choices. It's obvious he has his own agenda to rally a conservative cause to destroy everything potentially left leading-including mocking centralists- in his personal vendetta to get back at his former bosses.

Feel free to post my post 'over there'- sign my HF name to it as credit. I'm sure my past-life brother- Captain Snot Rocket has been drooling to blast my posts after so long an absence at locking horns with me in similar debates laugh.gif

I'm pretty sure many 'over there' miss HFs distorted perspective rants. I can see them making those puzzled doggie twisted to side head postures when they try and figure out how I ramble into the 'interesting point of views' I'm getting infamous for now - bwahahaha

-ps. I'd like to see their replies to the post too wink.gif thnx TM

This was my response:

My thoughts are that we won the cold war. The Soviet Union fell. Who won the propaganda war? I'd say we did. I can't say it took 15 to 20 years, but democracy won.

How do I know? Well, we have a bunch of old Soviet states wanting to join NATO. This has Russia all up in arms and creating reasons to attack former Soviet States and potential future NATO allies.

It has Russia saying that if we install our missle shield in Poland they will put troops on the border (or whatever their recent threat was).

Also, the interviewee kept referring to the threat of communism/socialism and Marxism/Leninism, but what he was really referring to, if you take it in context, is Totalitarianism. We allow people free speech in our country, and he says things like Holloywood stars are targets because they can convince us to be sympathetic to the other side, well, history has proven that wrong time and time again. He offers up Jane Fonda as evidence of the success of the KGB infiltration and it's effect on us. Well, I grew up knowing Jane Fonda as the enemy. I'd say their attack failed.
What about teenagers today?
Well, they probably watched Team America and laughed at the charicatures of stupid liberal Hollywood and also will vote with their consciuos, not their oppinion of a celeb.

Anyway, that's my oppinion. I think it was a very interesting video. I'm sure this guy was saying a lot of things that were true. However, I think that even if the methods worked in other parts of the world they clearly didn't work here and can't work here.

If the KGB's goal was to make us question our government then perhaps we should thank them. Perhaps we should be glad that every 4 years we debate who should be running this country.

KGB had a good idea, but the wrong one to win the cold war. USA wins. We have more money and easier access to our natural resources. USSR just couldn't get it done. Too many different peoples to repress and keep from warring with each other and too much money needed to keep up with the US in the arms race.
Send us all the negative propaganda you want. We still will outspend you and our people will watch color TV and have MTV and wear parachute pants ('80's references).

Again, just my 2 pennies.
