I wouldnt say that... I am sure there are some decient cops out their.... somewere... I mean they are just people with power.... the sad thing is what happens when you cant rely on the police to handle situations. I dont feel the American justice system works in favor of victims or criminals... more like a suicidal-equality. Cant represent the victim to its fullest and cant punish the agressor to the fullest either. A fine line is drawn....
in Isis case that is a sick and fucking twisted thing to do to someone.... kinda person that needs to vanish one night. but see I think we all rely to much on our american goverment to much. the guy next door has his stereo too loud call him and tell him... dont hide behind the curtians and call the cops then act surprised when the neighbor asks you if you called the cops. (knowing and bold face lying to him) What happened to the days when you insulted someone and it was settled in a fist fight not in court... or catch someone robbing your house and just shoot the fuck. what happened to respecting people and their shit? sad fucking day in america. for example some little fuck is behind me on the I90 flashing his lights wanting to pass.... so in the traffic i move over the fucker shoots by with his finger in the air and cuts me off... why cant I follow him and beat the living day lights out that 18 Y/O punk? But no we have to OBEY the law and not do anything... also pisses me off that the police can be armed to the hilt and the second I walk out the door with a gun the cop wants to know were i am going... (to a bell tower muther fu@ker!) Flordia passes the shoot first law, texas has a great self defense law... NY.... I have to be shot and stabbed and locked in the closet before i can defend myself... (not to that extreme but more then whats needed) cuda I use to work with the fire department over here and we did some work with the police the shit people call them out for is retarded... cops are not the police you see on cops... thats just the high light reel. |

It's very sad to see that the criminals seem to have more rights than the victims. About 10 years ago a burglar broke into my grandfathers home & cut his hand on the glass when he broke the window to get in. He was caught, but then sued my grandfather for pain & suffering and won. I'll say they got more rights. That's total BS. Maybe you can explain this to me Cuda. When I was 16, I was riding with my step-brother and his girlfriend in her car when she tried going around a car that was turning and we got hit. Her fault, she caused the accident. The cop took statements from everyone except me. Instead he harassed me about a t-shirt I was wearing. He put me in cuff's and threatened to take me to jail demanding to know where I got the shirt from. It was an Over Kill shirt that said on the front "We dont care what you say", On the back it said "Fuck You". He kept me in the car for about a half hour asking me stupid question about the shirt and what was the difference in yelling that or wearing the shirt. Being a 16 year old smart ass I told him "Some people are illiterate" He couldnt find anything illegal about it so he let me go with the threat that as soon as he can find something illegal with the shirt he's comming to my house to get me. Now wtf was that about? I was a backseat passenger in a car accident. Instead of making sure I was ok he wanted to run me in for a concert t-shirt!?!?! Dont they have better things to do? -------------------- |

I hate hearing stories like your Undertow....Unfortunately, in every job class there are going to be assholes who abuse there power. The only answer I can give you is that you should be aware of your rights and if you feel that they have been abused then take action.
Our Jurisdiction has a Professional Standard Branch in which all complaints are submitted against police personnel. The problem comes when someone gets a speeding ticket, they make a complaint just to get the ticket withdrawn and clog up the system. Obviously there will always be people with justifiable complaints that should be dealt with and abuse of power as well as excessive use of force should not be tolerated. If people who make complaints are not satisfied with the results they can make a complaint to OCOPS which is a civilian board...at which time they take over the investigation of the complaint. (Canadian) I know in the states they have the internal affairs office that investigates police complaints. Unfortunately I am not familiar with the ins and outs of there procedures. Fortunately for us Guns are illegal in Canada..so we have a very minor problem with shootings..in comparison to the US. Anyone with a gun..hunters for example must have them registered. All in all, I think this makes a safer country. That is my personal opinion. As for law enforcement vs. the Criminal Justice System....there is a huge difference. Our job is to lay the charges and its up to the criminal justice system to determine the penalty. I've seen convicted rapists, drug dealers, etc get house arrest and or probation. Yes, this is a slap in our face as well...especially when you spent 3 hours of your shift investigating a crime, arresting the suspect and assisting the victims....just to go back into your next shift to find out they have been released. Then they tell us there is no profiling...so you can't go watch that criminal, even thought you know they will be out doing another robbery or B&E..because this would be considered profiling and just another excuse for the defense attorney to have the case withdrawn. Abuse of power exists in all area's of life. Look at the CEO's in major corporations, look at federal and provincial levels of governent. It can be between a supervisor and a line worker in a factory. It is part of the school board. Many people are where they are today...because they new someone in a powerful position. It even occurs in our MOB forums...accusations of abuse of power. As far as I am concerned...every person must decide how they want to live there life...and I believe that what goes around comes around....eventually! -------------------- {MOB}{Regs} 440Cuda ![]() |

Her fault, she caused the accident. The cop took statements from everyone except me. Just to add to that, any person inside a vehicle is considered a biased witness, if it was your brothers girlfriends fault would you have given a statement stating that she caused the accident? When officers are at the scene of a motor vehicle accident they take statements from both drivers and any other witness who are unbiased...this would be a person in another vehicle, pedestrian, etc which allows for impartial judgement on what really occurred. There are always two sides to a story and somewhere in the middle is the truth. After viewing the damage to the vehicles, taking statements and complete the investigation, officers apply the law accordingly. I know here in Windsor ...if I am driving and go to pass a car and the car turns left in front of me, it is my fault..it does not matter that the car in front of me did not use the signal. What happened to you afterwards does not sound right....but at the same time, why make a big deal and not just laugh about your tee shirt to the cop. I was not there and hear your part of the story..sounds like a lot of waisted time to me... -------------------- {MOB}{Regs} 440Cuda ![]() |

She tried passing him on the shoulder of the road as he turned. As for laughing about my shirt, I was but the cop didn't find it humorous at all. Unfortunately I think the cop was harassing me cuz I was a 16 year old punk with long hair & an offensive tee shirt. -------------------- |

an unarmed person isnt safer. putting laws on firearms just gives people that will violate the law a much bigger advantage.

i'm a liberal and i'm also much more intelligent than you you saying kill 'em all just proves my point i could go around saying "kill all the fucking conservative piece of shit bush lovers" but i don't because that would be rude even if it should be done show some restraint when talking about politics, especially when you have 4 years until you are even eligible to vote, fucker. -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

Ghost,
I don't much care for the lefty hippies like redeemer either, but that doesn't mean they should all die(except for redeemr). Try not to shit on peoples political ideals when you in fact have no clue what is going on, even though you may think you do. I mean lets face it, you're not the brightest crayon in the box.
