Hey guys/gals. This thread was inspired by T/A6pak showing where her name came from. I thought it might be neat for everyone to tell where their name came from or why they chose it.

Mine comes from a song by Black Label Society fronted by arguably the best guitarist around Zakk Wylde. I chose the name because to me it relates to the game because Genocide is exactly what the Germans were doing to the Jews. Junkie is exactly what I am for this game. I play it all the time... Thus Genocide Junkie.

Tell us yours now....

Junkie

i agree with the Zakk Wylde thing, genocide! he's amazing.

anyway, lipton. some people will get a kick out of this...despite all the enormous amounts of "HEY TEAMAN" comments, lipton was first Sgt. Lipton, and became I am Lord Lipton, before i inherited my Regs tags. the actual Lipton part, as alot of you can guess, came from the HBO series Band of Brothers..

though i cannot say Lipton was my favorite guy in all those ep's he's definitely tied for one of 'em. but Sgt. Winters or Babe Hefron just didn't sound as good as Lip.

haha, there you go!

Rommel is from the desert fox Erwin Rommel. He was one of German's best panzer field marshal . "quotation from Rommel:"Sweat saves blood, blood saves lives, and brains saves both." "Mortal danger is an effective antidote for fixed ideas." "The best form of welfare for the troops is first-rate training." "Don't fight a battle if you don't gain anything by winning." "In a man-to-man fight, the winner is he who has one more round in his magazine." "Courage which goes against military expediency is stupidity, or, if it is insisted upon by a commander, irresponsibility." "In the absence of orders, find something and kill it." Referring to Italians: "Good troops, bad officers. But remember that without them we wouldn't have civilization." "Training errors are recorded on paper. Tactical errors are etched in stone." "It is not a Commonwealth division, it is an Australian Division. Why, give me two Australian Divisions and I will conquer the world for you!" "Mortal danger is an effective antidote for fixed ideas."

1) I feel like my wife's mule at times.

2) It's a unique name, never saw anyone that had a name even close to it.

3) I liked the in game line "You killed : My Wifes Mule"

4) Thought it up while I was playing COD as the wife was pestering me about doing something.

5) I sure didn't want to be another Killer this or Killa that or Speirs or Winters or Malarky etc. etc. etc.

6) See #1.

Kleerance is an odd story actually. I play a lot NHL Hockey from EA sports, and there you are not allowed to use a name others have picked. So I thought something about "Clear the zone", so it became Kleerance (with a K and double e). hysterical.gif

I try to clear the the bases in this game as well, with "mixed" luck I must admit.

Now I use Kleerance in any game.

The story of Meowman...

Well i get into games when my friends (really only one persuasive friend) tells me its good, gets me to go to best but or w/e, and buy it with gift cards from holidays. So we first started playing runescape, being my first MMO, i loved it. I started playing it on my friends birthday, my name...Meowmix106. Yes, it is related to the song. So the next game he got me to but was CoD, he played and another one of my friends played (he was in praetorians alliance, which is now v4c i think, he no longer plays *cry*) So basically, i wanted to keep a meow theme, so i chose meowman.

I've recently decided to use the name Pancakes instead bacause i love pancakes and i was tired of being called gay or other various terms by idiots.

Been using this nick for about 6 years now. Not sure why I chose it, but I suppose it has something to do with my nationality...

Started online gaming with Delta Force 2 - only played the demo version, but the demo version actually had quite a cult following, with clans, matches, etc.
There was A LOT of inter(and intra)-clan drama back then too!

Have pretty much always used the same name...

OK

here is a good one.

The touch tone terrorists prank phone callers. It is actually one guy, who uses a harmonizer to sound like about 4-5 guys. You may know a few of the prank phone calls from Comedy centrals "crank yankers". I miss it. SO, he does all these hilarious voices, and one is a stoner dude who is working in a warehouse or something and this lady calls, she is all pissed and he is literally blowing her off.. she is getting more and more wound up, and he says, "come on man, don't be a flatliner." My buddy and I began using that term for anyone who was a downer. We took the term with us to PreKatrina new orleans and met a dude named bobby who drank for 11 hours and passed out. We called him bobby flatliner..... we called anyone who was a drag, a flatliner and still do.. It started out as a joke, because of the "you killed flatliner" was so damn funny to me, and then you all were communicating with me calling me flatliner (of course) and I was dying..... when it spread to vent... and I think it was 6 pak who first said it, HEY FLATLINER I could not respond. I was laughing so hard, and she said, "are you there" and i could not stop laughing. she though i was ignoring her... LOL. Oh and by the way, for future reference, all the crap going down makes all those dudes TOTAL flatliners.....HAAAA

Not as good of a story as it was long ....
