Justified IMO, I know it doesn't "right the wrong" Not even close, unfortunatly (sp) for the attacker he will probably face some serious battery charges. He handled it probably the same way I would have

I have to say I can totally understand where he was coming from. My cousin was tied up nearly beaten to death by a guy and now she is basically handicapped. She had to have multiple surgeries and will never be the same. She can barely talk and has no use in her right arm and she will probably be dependent on her parents and meds for the rest of her life. My aunt was telling us how you could see the rope marks on her wrists and ankles where this douchebag had tied her up and he was still at her apt. when the cops showed up to check on her. This asshole told the cops she was sleeping off an overdose! What pissed me off most about it, is the fact that since she had such a bad head injury she couldn't remember anything about what happened to testify at the trial, so he only got a simple aggravated assault charge, yet this guy has a rap sheet a mile long. How's that for justice?

Iris, I feel for you and your family...after going what your cousin went through, then being put through the justice system with her memory loss seems almost inhuman.
Being on the law side and working in SIB, I can tell you that no officer should have left the scene without checking on her well being. Unfortunately, victims of crime who go through the criminal justice system, usually get victimized again during the testimony process. It's very sad to see that the criminals seem to have more rights than the victims. All I can say is that if was my family, I would not let it get to criminal justice process.... They would know who did it........but they never would be able to prove it. [/quote] Guess you know 2 now, eh Silver.....I sleep very well at night, knowing that I've done my best in all the situations that I deal with. It's unfortunate Silver that you have had negative intervention with the police, but all are not like the one's you have dealt with. All in all, at the end of the day...I bet there are very few people who would be able to do what I do and not get a little hard. And after doing what I have for the length of time...seeing what I have seen....I'm sure that most people would prefer other careers.
