After 9-11-01 I wanted revenge for the act that were brought to my doorstep.

when we went into afganistan we took control and forced the taliban to the mountians, the people were happy! they flew kites and played music.... happy to be free...

we next go to Iraq, we invade and release the captured troops back into the population, and continue the advance...

the people didnt fly kites....

the people didnt play music...

they DID tear down the statues and celeberate the loss of sadam....

I watch the military channel and I see the towel heads crusing at our troops and wanting them out...

tell me WTF are we doing?

they dont want us there, they dont want our troops, they are killing our troops, and supporting the enemy!

TIME TO PULL OUT!!!

I think the war is getting bullshit...

someone please bring so more sense this for me...

I dont see why we are there, I dont think we should be there....

if the people wanted us there, they would help us out...

why we dont just pull out and leave the mess for the terrorists to clean up.

we should have just carpet bombed the shit out of them...

now were gonna lose more troops to a civilization that dont want our help...

The whole idea of let's just bomb them is silly.
Would you want someone else to apply the same logic to us?
I don't think so.

The idea of trying to instill a small limited democracy in the middele east, to me shows a lot of common sense and the possibility of great rewards, although only in the future.
I think the real problem is no one thought it would be this hard to do.
I'm guessing no one foresaw the difficulties, probably because cultural differences.
1) Even though the West has many strong religious ties to seveal different doctrines , compared to the East we are almost completely secular.
2) Everything about the west is based on personal freedoms, were as the East have little or none.

BTW pezking, your wrong about BinLadin and his followesrs being against us because of the 1st Gulf War.
He helped finance an form Al-Qaeda 3 years before the Gulf War.

I'm not dissagreeing at all. I saw this whole thing on the History Channel about Bin Laden, his history and all. They had speeches of him talking about how the infindels invaded the holy land during the Gulf War and then later, post-9/11 talking about how that was a main catalyst of why they planned the attacks in the US. Don't forget that he was working for us in the 80's... on US payroll. Oh wait a second, so was Saddam! LOL... craziness. So 2 guys that we want dead NOW, used to get money from the USA. Goes to show that the old saying, "my enemy's enemy is my ally" is not always correct.
