i have to vent this out ! I have a good friend whos unit was the first to hit ramadi in the begining of this tour of iraq and happend to be the worst fire fight (i believe)within the conflict. they had recorded alot of the fight and sent me a disk which ive posted a few of the videos (that werent too graphic)here a while back.he was quickly premoted and decorated and he reupped as soon as his tour was up.when you do that you have to take leave in the states which he was posted in colorado and a month ago back here in south florida ,to return to iraq in two weeks. the problem is he started hearing voices ,not being able to sleep ,talking to people (like in war) and having major episodes.im good freinds with his mother and there was a mishap she will not talk about but long story short ,he has to searched for weapons before coming in the house.they took him to the doctor and he said it was pdsd. the other 17 guys he came back with are all suffering the same and all are going back in two weeks.

although hes lucky because his mother knows some higher ups and was able to get in contact with our senator and get him time before he has to return (extra month) i ask what about the other 17. these kids are going to be fucked up for life and when introduced back into that enviroment ,will get some of our own killed including themselves.how could they diagnose them with pdsd and still say who cares ,were short send them back! i think this a fucked up situation.i actually had a guy inmy bar last night who said "thats what we pay them for"and i nearly broke the bottle over his head.wondering what opinions everyone else has?

I was reading a recent article on Army CSC teams [Combat Stress Control]. These are mobile mental heallth groups deployed in hostile areas. Although they assist hugely in straightening out wrecked nerves [if possible], its sad to see the few cases they are missing/not dealing with properly. I hope they get back period and given priority treatment if needed and not 'allowed' to go back if some disorders have developed from a prior tour - which must be tough to determine; how many cases in WW2 were there of injured soldiers 'escaping' from hospital if possible just to join their Front Line buddies ASAP! - not just a few....

nah...don't get arrested. Just calmly tell him. "You don't have a clue, do you?- I wonder how people like you make it through the day." Or some other comment mocking his shoe-size IQ.

Dude my heart is with you man. We brought home two more fallen the other night. I was at work when the CC150 landed, man the base stood still and you can feel the sorrow. We here in Canada are dealing with PTSD as well and I will tell you it is dang hard to pin down. And as far as the goverments they are all the same. About the only difference as far as I am concerned is we don't have the same acceptable loss ratio from our DND (DOD). I will pray for your boys as I pray for ours.
