I think that COD2 is bigger right now BECAUSE its not as tactical as Cod/UO. In my opinion it was the simplicity of MOHAA that was so appealing. That's what COD2 brought back. The old run and gun.
Even when Mohaa Airborne is available, I don't think it will be the same as the original. Its the same reason why myself and my friends still prefer the original tecmo superbowl over something like Madden NFL 07. For my friends and I, its the relaxing simplicity that wins us over rather than the complex realism.
