AntiAliasing (AA) smooths jagged lines. For example, look at the telephone wires in Carentan without AA on and you will see a stairstep effect. With AA enabled, the lines will appear smoother. Other notes:
1) AA can be set to OFF, 2X,4X or even higher depending on game. Using any AA will slow your FPS significantly. 2) The higher your screen resolution (ie 1280x1024 instead of 800x600), the less you need AA to make the lines look smooth. Serious gamers usually have AA set to OFF so that maximum FPS can be obtained. Old Man Mike |
