For those that don't know, ex-senator Mitchell spent months compiling evidence against players that used steroids in the past years and the report was released at 2 pm est today. Complete list of names as far as I could tell (haha Clemens):
Lenny Dykstra David Segui Larry Bigbie Brian Roberts Jack Cust Tim Laker Josias Manzanillo Todd Hundley Mark Carreon Hal Morris Matt Franco Rondell White Roger Clemens Andy Pettitte Chuck Knoblauch Jason Grimsley Gregg Zaun David Justice F.P. Santangelo Glenallen Hill Mo Vaughn Denny Neagle Ron Villone Ryan Franklin Chris Donnels Todd Williams Phil Hiatt Todd Pratt Kevin Young Mike Lansing Cody McKay Kent Mercker Adam Piatt Miguel Tejada Jason Christansen Mike Stanton Stephen Randolph Joey Hairston Jr. Paul Lo Duca Adam Riggs Bart Miadich Fernando Vina Kevin Brown Eric Gagne Mike Bell Matt Herges Gary Bennett Jr. Jim Parque Brendan Donnelly Chad Allen Jeff Williams Howie Clark Nook Logan The entire 300+ page report is available on www.espn.com Such a sad day, Paul Lo Duca was my favorite player last year... -------------------- ![]() {MOB}... mod ,its there -trust me . all sports.
i think if the kids know theres a more thorough testing method and harsher penalties ,alot would probably think twice.MLB is a slave to the players union and is going to be the reason for its demise-no salary cap- lame drug testing.heres a question, me as a father ,do i want to take my son to the ball park to see a bunch of millionare drug users and spend $150 for a hot dog and 2 beers?or take him to the zoo? kt ,i do agree although we do use the timeout method, lol. now that im at the office 5 to 6 days a week i see my wife slowly moving towards throwing that method out the window This post has been edited by UNDEAD 1: 12/17/07 10:39am -------------------- ![]() |

Frankly, when the rumours have been swirling around baseball for over a decade now and we now have a report that names some of the bigger names, and just those linked to one guy, I think it's some wrong to throw out a blanket accusation at another sport with no evidence. Yes, of course there are atheletes everywhere using steriods, but in baseball it seems like it has gone that extra step to being a part of the culture. One suspects that any player not satisfied with the current state of his game could easily find someone in his clubhouse who could help his start the steriod cycle. The union in this all has been dispicable. Instead of calling meeting and trying to come up with a plan that would eliminate drug use so ALL their members could compete on an even level, they've done their best to protect the guilty. What must a ball player who hasn't used steriods be thinking? Clemens and Bonds break records and make untold millions, and when it is discovered they cheated to make themselves better at the expense of other players, the union is looking out for THE CHEATERS, and ignores the innocent! With 25 million dollars contracts to players for 1 year's service, baseball could obviously afford to hire an army of testers to scoure the major and minor league's with surprise tests. If there was any will to fix the problem, they could do it. However, the first step would be to ban all people listed from any Hall of Fame entry, period. Then launch a fuller investigation and if steriod use can be proven more conclusively, start lifetime bans from baseball. Strike Bonds and Clemens records from the books, etc. Baseball is stained. If they want to remove it, time for some harsh justice. Don't let the league's most successful cheaters dominate the record books or adorn Hall of Fame plaques. Send the message out to kids that baseball doesn't tolerate cheaters anymore, and that steriods isn't one of the paths to the major leagues. Or ignore it. If they ignore it, I hope baseball fans stop going. If the execs won't send a message, the fans should. Stop cheering exposed and guilty cheaters. -------------------- ![]() |
