I think the point was that the media is so far in the tank for Obama that they are growing gills.

The fact that they have already done a rectal exam on a person who mistakenly asked Obama a question that made him look bad and then they poured thru his past is the point.

....... on and on it could go these would seem like stories...except he's a democrat.

How is it that he his "mis-spoken" about his ties to Ayers numerous times yet there is no investigation about their past history?

Yes, there is talk radio and the internet to help balance this out, and people like myself can research some facts on both sides, but the average person that turns on their local news in the AM over coffee, or to catch the evening news for the weather are swamped with left leaning bias on a daily basis.

So for these people their opinion can be swayed by the bias of the media.

The point of journalism is to give un-biased facts and present the story. The press today is writing op-ed pieces and claiming they are journalists.

Why is Obama's past considered a mystery to the point of excessively dragging it out?
Everything there is to know about his past has been uncovered -he simply has not much of a past -is that his crime !
It's as simple as that - how much pummelling does the media need to do with it- they drew out the Rev.Wright issue extensively! It's amazing people think Obama got a free pass on that - he got slaughtered with it for months and prevailed!
Regarding Ayers -WE KNOW all the facts! How much time does the media need to keep repounding the issue when there's an economic horror story in progress!
The McCanists are only upset they cannot nail Obama as an actual terrorist- their issue is not to claim Obama as not trustworthy by the friends he chose -they simply want to paint him as an unamerican terrorist in waiting -like a sleep cell agent.... its a strategy that's been pounded away with -along with much media coverage -why is there the crybaby thought that the Ayers episode is being ignored..... it's simply that the dirt with that topic is not sticking to Obama -simply because its only a case of Obama not caring about Ayers anti- American establishment opinions -he has no affiliation with Ayers views - the mCainists want to give that impression but it's a big scam - and the media is seeing that there is NO story with it.

Obama worked his ass off as a student - his mom drilled into him the need to be educated and disciplined- it's no mystery - Obama has stated how his mom worked him over on doing his homework- you can laugh, but parents putting in that kind of input make all the difference in their child's future life.

If you want to get into pointless sideline issues, why doesn't the media cover Palin's husbands affiliation with the Alaskan Inependance Party.
or Palin's blessings for the socialist program in her State regarding her endorsing "spreading the wealth/profits" of oil companies drilling there, with the Alaskan citizen - ie, dividend checks.
or- McCain and the Keating 5,
or McCain and association with Gordon Liddy
or the numerous flip flops mcCain has prescribed to now as a pseudo-right Conservative as opposed to his former Maverick centro-Republican self.
or- the McCain answer to the Acorn episode -regarding connections with the Lincoln Strategies Group and the YPM.
or why doesn't the Media pound McCain with the fact that Sam/Joe the unlicensed plumber would benefit under the Obama plan - contrary to what McCain is still rambling on in current speeches about after bring nation wide attention to a man who owes $1200 in taxes since Jan.2007
or why doesn't the media fully cover the serious rift amongst Repubs - being pro/con McCain in nature.

Pelosi made a dumb statement as do many McCain / Repub officials+ politicians -> getting equal minimal coverage time as befitting what else important is going on -> what makes more news- the stock market crashing or Pelosi's blame game occurring at the same time.
Did the media pound McCain for saying he was suspending his campaign prior to the first debte when he in actuality did not! -answer- a crisis was at hand AND coverage of the debate took prority.

What the point of journalists do in the media is far different from the roles played by editorial icons and late night show hosts do in picking sides. Journalists do in fact cover stories in a non-biased manner in the campaign. They cover the screw-ups of politicians to find out why they did those things - Obama gets coverage when he screws up- the fact is McCain and Palin and his campaign strategists are making more foul-ups lately and thus get more coverage from journalists to analyze. The rest of the media are picking sides favouring the Dems -possibly as payback for the way neo-cons and those in the Bush admin for 8 years chuckled while pounding the rightfully suspecting media as being un-American and unpatriotic for questioning the ludicrous Authorative-like stunts Cheney,Bush and cronies pulled on Americans.
