I hate making mistakes: misspelled "elusive," tending to escape. Since I'm here replying, one of the things I left off about the Waggoner Ranch is that it is surrounded by smaller ranches of between five and seven thousand acres. The entire wild area is actually much larger than the Waggoner Ranch. When you drive to Vernon the back way, taking the scenic route, you drive right through the middle of the ranch. It's amazing how much wildlife you can see there, and at night you really have to be careful not to run over a wild animal(s).
