What's YOUR thoughts on sv_pure?, pros and cons Options

Just wondering what everyone is thinking about the sv_pure on server number 2!

I have mixed reactions.

Pro:

For once I know I'm not neon red in your sights.

Hiding actually occasionally really works!

The players that have taken the time to set their game up for sv_pure are really dedicated die-hards, and overall seem to have a good level of maturity. I haven't seen anyone flood the chat with PUSSY and FAGGOT yet, anyway! LOL

The feel of the game is once again immersive. I often wish for an entrenching tool to dig a deep hole and survive.

Con:

I really dislike the weapons mod as it stands. SMGs are WAY too accurate and hit too hard at range, making them the best overall weapon in the game. What can I say? I'm a MPSH fan...I LIKE the difference in weapons between the nationalities.

Some of my favorite maps went the way of the Dodo...I guess they were incompatible with the sv_pure thing.

It's disappointing to see so few players on. Saturday afternoon and there's only 10 players in the server. I like a crowd...there's safety in numbers, eh?

I believe that's true, Monev. Hasn't been up very long.

Never did use the SMG much before, as I like the option to tag at range. Was a BAR man myself...damned jumpy on auto fire, but with single shot I used to take on snipers with success.

Having friends that are re-enactors (one is curator of a museum) and having had the opportunity to fire BOTH the BAR abd Thompson, I can tell you that the SMG has a VERY limited effective range. The damned thing will literally roll itself out of your hands...I scared the bejeezus out of the guys on the firing line with my first clip! LOL

I hope I didn't leave the wrong impression! A this point, it's sv_pure or nuthin' fer me!
