Being on the law side and working in SIB, I can tell you that no officer should have left the scene without checking on her well being.

God Bless your cousin and family and lets just pray that one day that bastard who committed this crime gets his just deserts!!!!

...he was still at her apt. when the cops showed up to check on her. This asshole told the cops she was sleeping off an overdose! What pissed me off most about it, is the fact that since she had such a bad head injury she couldn't remember anything about what happened to testify at the trial, so he only got a simple aggravated assault charge, yet this guy has a rap sheet a mile long. How's that for justice?

They did check on her, because my aunt had called them, since she hadn't heard from my cousin in several days. He was still at her place when they showed up and he lied to them about what happened. They arrested him on the scene as far as I know. Unfortunately, like I said, he got off pretty easy considering what he had done, because she was not able to remember enough of that night to testify. I would love to get him alone for five minutes, believe me, as would the rest of my family.
