I often pick the team opposite the Regs folks (which means Germans) if I come in late to a round. That way I can get in my quota of killing off Goosedown, Sgt Thomas and Dolphin Girl for the week.

Besides, it's more challenging (okay... annoying) to have an enemy who can predict your tactics.

stick to your dutch ladies, feezy.

i don't care if its historically impossible, i think it'd be awesome.

and silver, some guys are really good with the sniper there. like lyonheart. they aren't all noobs. and from my experience 2/3 of the russians take the PPSh not for spawnkilling but because no one can use a rifle like you and i can.(feezy too !) and i love the luger. i'm amazing with it at cassino. i hat the brit pistol, 6 rounds meh.

scrapyardbob after your map is done, you should figure out how to make americans on barb.

Just because your losing and playing with a bunch of Noobs, doesn't mean you have to lose the game. That's when you have to step up, be a leader and give direction to your team. That's what the team needs sometimes to have a great come back.

Being a leader means: telling your team that you need people at Def at a certain base or telling people to cover a certain area. Telling your team to bring more tanks to the base for protection. Sometimes a little direction can go a long way.

From my experience in Barb, most people will step up to the plate. Often I have asked who is D and who is O. You'll see most people on your team typing in the position they will take. You can also have the highest scoring people use there arti to take down the bases while the majority hold D, once you get back to a more equal position with the other team, the game is more challenging.

Often times telling people not to breach a certain base will help as well, most of the time they listen.

Just some food for thought.

I think that for Barb is still one of our most popular servers. I see a lot of regular players who all work together. Most are not mob regs. But it sure is alot of fun when a bunch of us get on. Most of the time we are laughing so hard at the stupid things we do....we end up losing.

When you have a bad day there's nothing better than getting on vent with a bunch of MOB and Regs and having some good laughs....the day seems so much better!:)smile.gif:

I agree 6 pak. The only problem was that most of my teammates that game seemed like they were 9 years old or something. They all grouped at our base and the Germans were coming at us from every angle. I tried to get out so many times and from different sides, but constantly spawned ot killed within 20 seconds of spawn. When there is that many good players on one side, its really hard to do anything. I could make it easy and just hop over to the other side, but rather have one or two of the better players come over and make it more competitive than the slaughter it was.

IOW, your team failed to understand the importance of controlling the three passes into the Russian area (especially the North pass by R1). As a result, they got slaughtered. My #1 team-chat when I play Russians on Barbarossa? "X flank is weak" (Meaning that someone better get eyes on that flank or the Germans will use it to bottle us into our spawn area.)

(shrugs) That's why we created the Barbarossa Tactics and Strategy thread...

In that massacre situation you can only pray for the end to come quick, even a couple of good players switching at that point won't likely turn the tables. And also the fact is, will the noobs listen to sound advice to play the match better... -> when they do listen, the comeback kicks into gear, if however, they continue camping and playing tdm in useless parts of the map then that's a team not fun to switch over to since it'll be only a few players doing all the real work and getting chopped down halfway due to lack of team support.

keep in mind, DDz we cannot always make the teams the fairest it can be. there WILL be rounds when some teams have more talent then the other. but most of all, barb takes teammwork. and its evident that your team was with people who cared more about themselves then helping their buddies.

don't blame it all just one or two rounds. i've never been on barb with teams too heavily stacked thats its a complete slaughter (and i've probably played twice as much barb as you..)

Scrappy has, as always, a good point here. If the Russians let the Krauts control the area from R1 to the Russian spawn PAK, assuming that the situation is the usual R3 against G2 or G3, they(we) will be hammered to heaven in seconds. Then it is crucial to get out a smoke blanket around the spawn tanks, and regain the control of this important area.

Im glad to see the response to this topic is very good. This must be a topic that many have heard or felt something on both sides of the fence here. Although I dont believe the replies here have really helped me out with determining if a game is stacked or not. Basically from what I read, either teach the retarded how to play in a process of getting whooped, or be superman and do it yourself, lol. No, seriously, it is frustrating when you have allot of noobs on your team. I can not teach barb 101 while im trying to learn it better myself. Im not great at it, but not horrible. I like to have fun and I can see that if the teams are that lopsided I need to either just leave or switch sides and thats that. Its not what I would have liked to have happen, but I see that many feel that if the teams are as bad as I mentioned, Its not teams stacked, its take it and like it.

Going to go 353.gif for just a second. Correct me IF wink.gif I'm wrong but does this same thing not happen when the Cassino crowd plays on Cassino??? I believe it does, but I may be wrong...Of corurse it happens, when ppl play with their friends they want to win, ....right? So everyone might join the same team for a round or two. I'm guilty of this on Barb. (yes I finally admited to something) for the simple fact that I play the Russian side much better than I play the German side. In short, being TS'd against does suck, it happens against us but it also happens with us....Take the good with the bad & live with it.

DZ i understand what you are saying. When i'm playing with a bunch of noods i'll play Defense, i know it's boring but atleast i'll have a chance to win. Do what you want, but if no one is watching home, you will not have a home to go back to. mobrules.gif

Well guys, I guess this topic really pisses me off so I wanted to share it all over again. I can understand that some guys generally play the same team all the time, or want to be with their friends and so on. But today I blatently seen guys switch teams because we were getting our asses handed to us. Then I hit tab to notice there were like 8 guys in spec. This just really pisses me off when this happens. Once I say something in the game, its "quit crying" "waaaa" or some other comments. This should be a fun game. I wish you had to auto assign to a team or something. These rape sessions are really terrible. I mean the server crashed during the game (thank god) and when it restarted, 2 guys switched teams and the game was much better. We even kicked their ass. The games where they are a decent battle is what I really like coming here for. When a team wins the game without the other team blowing even the one, its just a sad game and I really want no part of it.
