Yeah, your chances of getting Manning and Tomlinson on the same team are very slim this year Nothing. Weren't you also getting mad points off Chicago D too? Your auto-draft hooked you up last year, almost like you picked all the people you wanted and then it was our turn. This will be the year of the sleeper!

I take it many of the guys last year never did an auto draft? Never just let the computer pull your drafts based on the ranking sheets, lol. I always tweak my list. But im giving too much info already, lol.

Seriously though, we are going from what, a 4 man league to a 20? I have played in money leagues for a while now. 8 is premium to me, 10 is good, and 12 is high. Any higher and it makes it real hard. If someone loses their Stud, they are pretty much finished if the league has allot of teams.

But to anger nothing I have increased it to 400 and invited all of the clans on twl to play. we each get .5 of a player.

So when is the draft?

WE have until sept 8th to setup our order in our lists. The draft will happen when all persons playing set their status to ready. It is a neat and upredictable method for a draft. YOu set your ordered players, and it will auto fill them in based on roster need and priority of the list. SO, if you have 5 running backs high on the list, and your need is a qb, and your rb slots are full, you will then pick a qb based off of the list. It takes some strategy, but can be fun.

Mule, Hit the Draft Central link on our league page. Upper right of the user bar. One the Draft Central page, you should see a link for Pre-Draft Rankings. You can import the list of Yahoo's pre-draft order and edit to your own.... so if you don't even like a certain player, you can remove him completely. Hope that helped.

I think there's already 14 teams, huge turnout. We haven't drafted yet, so talk to Flat about being added. You'd have to get one more team to sign up as well to keep the teams even.

It's going to be complete chaos w/the amount of teams we have. Each team will have 2-4 great players and a bunchy of average guys after that.... except Nothing's team which will consist of an All-Madden team.

They should rename the All-Madden to All-Nothing, what's that called when you have two opposite words together making a new meaning? You know, like Soft Rock. All-Nothing. LOL

Also, Nothing will rule again... we hacked the schedule so I play the teams first, wear them down, I'll still lose which will give the winning team false confidence, then the following week Nothing will clobber them.

Yeah, BG... you've got a good starting lineup. Potential mad points each week till we hit team bye weeks. The free agency pool is really shallow so I don't think it'll be used to much except for rookies that werent' ranked high, back up RB/QB, etc. Some of my guys have already been cut or demoted in the depth chart, lol... should be an interesting season.

every year in my other league ,after the draft ,everyone leaves and is like "i have the best team in the world!" until the end of week one when 10 guys go down for the season. you never know .

I agree, it's a gamble... should be interesting. Of the 5 RBs that I drafted, only ONE is a starter.

I have one WR, Billy McMullen (MIN), that's not even on the depth chart, most likely will be cut this week.

All and all, I'm sure many in the league have the same situation.

we added 2 teams to my home fantasy league this year (from 12 to 14 teams) and man,that was a tough draft day! after the 3 round there wasnt much out there and the draft went 17 rounds,lol. i left in the 14th and told everyone to pick for me.

thing is ,when its that shallow ,one injury could screw your whole season.one sleeper could make your whole season.

Yeah, was thinking about Brady Quinn as a sleeper but Nothing beat me to the punch. I think he'll play this season although the coaches and GM keep saying he won't.

how does the waiver wire work in season? first come first serve or is it the worst record get first dibs?

I'd trade but I don't have much at RB to work with. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that Palmer's knee stays healthy this season.

Taking a closer look, I have a pretty kick ass team. I'm only missing a "star" RB. I'm not too worried any more. I'll check back in maybe after week 2 or 3 to see if there are better RB's that are free agents/waiver wires. Till then, I think I'll bank on my hot commodities.

There were def some tight games this past week. It's only going to get harder once the bye weeks start.

I suggest next year we do a live draft on this board. It may take a couple days to complete, but I think it would be much better than the auto draft we chose.

Also, the pick up players at any time thing should not be how pick ups are done. They should go in order of the weakest team has first dibs and so on.

Just my thoughts for improvements.

If I have time next year we can make some changes.
We have people who are barely here to play, how in the heck are we coing to organize a live draft.... Vent would help alot. Actually, that would solve it.

Actually, the reason I want a live draft is because the auto draft puts players at the end of the draft on our teams that no-one wants. There is where you pick the diamonds in the rough of the league.

Also, the live draft could be on the league forums here. Like if I had 1st pick, I would list my pick here and the who has second pick, could post their pick next. If we tell everyone when the draft will start, most can keep viewing the forums for their next picks. It may take a few days to complete, but I think it would be much better than the auto draft.

If we could actually get everyone on vent at once, that would be the best, but the above alternative is ok also.

I dont need to win every week. I just need to make the playoffs, then its open season!

I would also suggest a smaller number of bench spots, especially with 14 teams that doesn't leave any resonable players out on the wire.



I'm in another league where we do pick ups based on standings. Each week all available players are put on waivers from the time their games starts until Tues at midnight. People put in waiver requests and the priority is in inverse order of the standings. It works to keep the lower teams more competitive, you'll like it when you're at the bottom and hate it when you're at the top but it is a little more fair than the free-for-all that most leagues use, especially if you can't sit around all day Sunday watching games.



I think a live draft would be good and you can do them pretty easily on Yahoo or ESPN. If people can't make the draft then they can set the autopick rankings and the computer will pick for them.

i agree with waiver order but i already have a 5 hour draft with 14 teams ,i kinda liked the auto draft even though down the road im going to be hating it.



its like poker- your delt a hand and you have to use luck and skill to make it better and in the nfl even a good player always slumps -aka thomilson,rivers . throw in bye weeks and it gets interesting.

live draft, sorry if i haven't been watching much of it, i got 7 other teams im trying to watch too but i am game for live drafting, i have a lot of people on my team i wouldn't ever had took.

I agree that with 14 teams we need fewer bench spots. I'm caught up with injuries and there just aren't any other players out there.
As a matter of fact, on yahoo I generally went with 1 rb, 2 rb, 1 TE, and one mixed rb/wr for the rb that gets more passes, or the wr that gets lots of return yards. Then just leave enough spots on the bench that you are never comfortable that your team is always covered in emergencies. It makes the waiver wire and free agency much more exciting. You can make changes week to week looking for the best matchups and there are always players available.
Just my 2 cents now that I've lost a game...

Live drafts are for pay leagues, you put your money in and want to have more control. This is more for shits and giggles, bragging rights.

I would take on the responsibility of keeping track of our draft order and putting it into the site if that would be the problem. I would much rather have a live draft. It doesnt even need to be completed all in one day. We could start a post for the draft and wait for everyone to post their pick.
