Yeah it's "available" in stores now.... somewhere... maybe... we think... uh no wait today is the ship date. No tomorrow is the ship date. Well sometime is the ship date... Oh you mean you actually wanted multiplayer. We never would have guessed... we'll have that "available" ASAP. We think. Maybe. This has been the biggest joke I've ever seen. i went to buy copies for myself and Krueger at CC today as they had a Ad in the paper that it would be available at 3pm.

So i get there and the store is deserted. i see about 10 clerks doing nothing. no one would ask me if i needed any help as i walk around the software shelves looking disparagingly for the game. Then, this completely tinny female clerk looking as though i had trap her in to asking me if i needed any help finally asked "find'in what ya need"?

Long story short she returned from looking in "THE BACK" and said "Nope, ain't here yet" - "Might come Thursday" to which i replied whatever.... .

Meanwhile BB had it on the shelf but i thought better of purchase for now.

NOPE.

After only MAJOR issues with getting the game installed it now tells me I'm using an invalid CDKEY which is quite extraordinary considering I never had a CD nor a Key with which to have anything invalid. I think I'll consider this a $50 misadventure and screw this game. They are all over their game on this one. I dunno what I expected from EA but they met every lowly expectation I could have had.

Ok so I finally get Multiplayer working. You have to register a screen name to play and that's different from your login name to EALINK which is different from your forum user name for EA. Which is different from most anything else you could ask for. So anyway, I played one round. This is not our new game. Go buy Day of Defeat for probly $10. Basically the same game play. Complete and utter waste of my hope and interest for the last several months. Blah.

What was wrong with MP in your opinion? Because the dedicated
server option is not available for 2 weeks, it has to be hosted by
some joker on his own PC which could be anything. I just stopped
by Best Buy and they had 10 copies come in and had 5 left. I went
down the street to Circuit City and they had gotten 6 copies in and
only had 1 left which I bought. I have not tried it on MP yet. I may
wait till the patch comes out to give it the big test.....

Where to begin.... The recoil on all the guns is insane. Not to mention the muzzle flash that is blinding. The rifles are way to hard to aim as well as it takes forever to get a second shot off. The sprint feature causes the graphics to go into a headache inducing blur. You cannot hear your enemy at all. This is not COD for sure. The game play is slow and cumbersome to me. Just not what I would expect for a game that was as hyped as this one. They basically copied the game type from Day Of Defeat and most of the guns shoot just like Day Of Defeat. To me it's Day of Defeat with lipstick.

Carol dragged me to Circuit City to look at new LCD tv's.

So I figured I would check and see if the game was there. They had 4 of them at $39.

So I grabbed it. Stay tuned for the Shred analysis. I'm installing.

By the sound of all the dissatisfied customers I've listened recently, who bought and played this game, I'm glad my video card couldn't run it, looks like I've saved myself a few bucks on the game and the price of a new video card.

But who knows, I'm still in the wait and see mode. From everything I've heard, it don't look good for Airborne or EA.

Ok i've played a little more now.... it's better than i first thought my eyes are starting to get use to it... still it's not great but maybe with the updates and patches it will get better... i played enough to get upgrades or the server had them set or something today and it gets better with the upgrades... i still find it hard to see the enemy and the sound is terrible i.e. you can't hear people running hard to hear paratroopers land on a roof above you etc... so i hope a few more of you will buy it and we can maybe play it together on vent see if it can be more fun together

I love that Remagen map.

Yeah, this game is workable. Dedicated servers will be a big improvement.

It may take awhile to get used to the weapons recoil.

Once the servers get up and we get some tweaks and mods it will be fine.

Frame rates are better than the demo.

I just bought this game & played it a few times now. My first thought
is I don't like it but I am comparing it to COD which is about 4 years old
and patched, modded and refined during all that time into what we play
today. So my second thought is that it WILL get better with all the
patches, modding amd refinement that it will do in the future days, weeks, months and years of its life.
So to trash the game upon playing it right from the box is sorta silly. It's just a baby now, lets wait & see
how it grows up...

Has anyone figured out how to change a username?

I seem to be stuck with the original one that is associated with my CD key.

EA support is pretty much useless.

Is the username the same as the EA ID? Or the classic screen name? Or the profile? Or the persona?

And what is the account name? It seems to agree with my username.

Also, where is the 5 digit activation code written? Is it related to the cd key?

Shred you are among the 99% of the people who play the game who are complaining about this. You are stuck with your EA user name. Mine is actually from my EALINK account. I'm not sure what yours will be.

Seeing as I cannot even play the demo (video card not supported) I doubt I will run out and spend $$$$ to upgrade....

Maybe later if it passes MOB Muster, I'll consider the upgrade.....

Okay, I finished the SP on the expert setting and must say that my first impression was good. I also was able to connect to a 12 man listen server and play Remagen tdm mp and can tell you that the mp is excellent. The kar 98 sounds like a cannon going off. Lets just hope that the patch adresses Game Name, what ping you have and being able to have a dedicated box without it costing a arm and a leg. This game has the potential of being the best ww2 fps game ever as long as EA and Black Hat don't drop the ball and give the gaming community what it needs.

ok i have heard its not supporting some of you guy's video cards....what brand name, series, and versions do you all have? drivers?

and the demo gave me a blue screen evertime i tried it...so i didnt even think about buying the game

Sounds almost like my system, and I got a blue screen before I updated the video card driver. Try it:

Try to decrease your requirement to your graphic in the setup file

I use Beta 163.67 found on Nvidia's Web sight. This driver works well in cod,cod2,and Airborne for me. Just make sure that you download and install driver cleaner pro and run it in safe mode before you install the new Driver.

What's wrong with EA that they don't provide this basic interface which has been out for two years? This company has a deathwish.

Activision will bury them with the COD4 release later this fall.

Not really considering they forgot to ship the game WITH MULTIPLAYER!!!!!!! These morons have no limit to their inabilities.

According to several forums, SLI will work by simply renaming the game to UNREAL3.EXE. Sli problem solved. As far as multiplayer is concerned, that is supposed to be corrected by sept 20th, we shall see. If i recall correctly everyone was screaming and bitching for a patch when COD2 came out. Please people, lets atleast give them a chance to fix things. As far as COD4 is concerned, it is yet to be determined if it will be any better than Airborne or COD2 for that matter.

CLEARLY, most dev teams are NOT game players.....

LOL! Well, I guess Abuse, but you have to rename the game to UNREAL3.EXE?!!?! That's bizarre! Why would they say it is not supported then? Perhaps it will tend to crash, even though this makes it work?

Personally, I think I would have accepted them moving the release date for PC back until december or something so that they'd get it right. As you can see, releasing an unfinished product pleases almost no one.

I'm definately getting to be of the mindset to realize games are different than movies. It's OK to make the effort to see a movie the day it comes out, but with games it is not a good idea. The users for the first 2 months are really just beta testers.

IMO, perhaps they should release the full game for a discount for 2 months in download only format, and call it a FINAL BETA version. Work out the bugs with the hardcore fans who know and realize they are getting a n t-quite-finished game, but at a discount, and perhaps you keep everyone happy. Hardcore fans get the first peek at the full game at a reduced price, then give feedback to EA (or whomever) on what to fix. Certainly seems better than "Let's ship it unfinished and hope people are patient enough to wait for a patch."

Don't go by System Requirements crap!! Work fine in vista 64 bit. As for the people getting blue screen try lowering your setting and see what happen.

people were screaming at activision for anti cheat and wondering why they remade cod1 just a bit different. these guys wanted to beat cod 4 to the table to make a quick one and slapped a unfinnished product out,np. im buying it tomorrow .

Hey MOD, Whats Bizarre about renaming the game unreal.exe? answer, nothing because the game is based on the unreal3 engine not the quake engine like it used to be. There will be a sli profile in upcomig drivers from nvidia. Sli is way overated if you ask me anyway and should not be a reason for not buying the game, I know this first hand as i have ran 2x 7900gt's and 2x8800gtx in sli and as far as benchmarks are concerned the sli setup smokes the single card every time, but when gaming you might see a 20 to 30% improvement in fps, hardly worth over twice the investment if you ask me. Anyway, Did EA rush this game out the door to make a quick dollar?......yes......Is the game lacking a bunch of features that should have been included in the game?......yes......Is the gameplay,graphics,weapons mods,sprint feature, sounds, etc anygood......yes..... IMO as good as any that i have seen or played. Is the game going to fill everyone's needs?....no. I'm just saying that people should give it a chance because as far as i know every game that has ever came out needed refinement and they are supposed to refine it sometime in mid September.JMO

Hey Jason, SLI is 2 nvidia pcie cards running together to increase performance. It will not effect your 7800. And the only console command that i have used is the fps counter which is stat fps 1............

im swimming like crazy and the screen is blurred when i move quick,anyone have some tips quick to help me get things faster? all in all i think its awesome! but needs cooler servers and i have to get used to the controls a bit . played the mp a bit and had a positive score so not to bad for first game but its anoying not to be able to move well at all,barely see the enemy and i couldnt even figure out the nades-lol.



im concerned with my computer , i meet all the criteria but my processor is a core 2 dou e6300 (186 mghz) its suposed to clock higher or along with 2+mghz processors though. do i have to upgrade or will more memory be ok.



i have a geforce 7600 512 mb card ,looking at the 8800 but not gonna happen till oct 1 st im afriad , how bad will this effect the game state.

I think it's just the game man. That's a pretty good processor but I run the 6750 and have the same issues. It looks great but plays rough. Only hope they can fix it to some degree to make it viable.

There is an option in the game settings to turn off the blurring effect while sprinting. Your processor should be fine, Regs{JesseJames} used the same processor at 2.93mhz without an issue. Your processor should do that speed with some simple bios adjustments. Google e6300 overclocking, you will find alot of info on it.
