Although other Combat guys in the group are off in another game, I preferred the WW2 related ones. They are just a group of guys, only 3 ever came in here, Hanley, Caje, and Doc. Early in the games I started as Sgt.Croft, after Aldo Ray in the old war film Naked and the Dead. But I think I arrived as Kirby here. After the film "Laura Croft" I dropped the name all together.

Nixon and Ryan came in after I did and I don't recall this convo.

Well at any rate cipher made a good point, there is no fun sitting in an empty server, I know the point of this post is to drum up activity, the only way ive noticed for new maps to really take off is when you put them in your main servers rotation. BUt then you run the risk of losing people on your main server. I dont think with the popularity of MOB this would happen but never the less most new maps arent as fun or complete as the normal maps.

Well I see both your (Kirby & MOB's) point on the custom maps, and I dont want to take sides, but I think that people like cypher shouldnt cut down on the maps server, becuase then when people read this they wont want to join it and try it out. All I say is if you dont like it thats cool, but dont bash it.

Actually taking cover isn't a play style I prefer to use but If I have a sniper rifle I take the best position I can, and move as little as possible. If I go automatic I move a lot more, but I know we do not play often Cypher, you did come in when I was with the sniper rifle binge a few months ago. Most of the time if I have that rifle, I am haveing a lousy connection (over weekends or busy server time). If I have a 50 ping to 70 I go on the move and use a automatic. I base weapon on map (small) auto, (large) Snipe or strait rifle or just how well my connection is that particular day. In custom I hardly use sniper.

I don't know what anyones definition of "camper" is, but the MOB guys I usually see in the server will often "take a covered position" at various times thruogh a "game" or a map, whatever. I consider a camper to be someone who only waits for people to come to them. They usually have a score of 12-4 or some other low number amnt. Now, I can see MOB guys take a "covered position", sit there for 5 minutes, and get 15 or 20 kills. I wish I had that kind of skill. When I play the destroyed village map, I try to split my time 50/50 with an mg and a sniper rifle. I'll try to sit in a secure position with the sniper rifle, but I won't rack many kills or deaths. But it's still fun for me. Shit. I forgot my point.

How big of a deal would it be to go with Missionary (fulltime) on Wiseguys server with new maps? Missionary can control the pk files for ya and even a noob should be able to handle a zipped self-install folder! Most of us in the new maps have it running well and I think and it may bring in more if advertised as Miss. only! But not stock as in Goodfellows but allowing Barts misc. skins and sights to add a little flavor,and may I suggest a separate channel in ven when we are in Wiseguys because the 2 servers overlap(I get confused easily) Maybe some changes first though, remove the bridge to far map for Marocco(as played on LOM server wannabe) and maybe a vote on final maps?

Cypher, if I camped as much as you complain about to me in-game then I wouldn't get the scores I get, albeit not stellar. I never have scores like 12-4 or 15-5 unless I have just joined the server. Sorry if I offended you by not playing the way you play but I find I get massacred if I play the way some of you mob guys play because I just don't have the skills. I find I play a lot like Stone some days, he certainly doesn't play like you or Panzer or Oppression.

On a side note, I have no problem with ppl camping, everyone has their own style...it's just a matter of exposing the other persons weakness. If you camp, I guarntee once one of us kills you, we will push you back in the spawn.

My main problem with campers is myself. (ignore the fact that I admit to doing it occaionally) Anyway, I'm one of the dumb asses that keeps campers camping, be it a MOB member or not. I'm the dumb ass that will go at the camper until I get him. I don't care about my score. It just becomes my mission to get the MFer. I don't hate them for doing it. I end up pissed with myself for getting killed 5 times b4 I get them. I especially hate the hiding behind the barrel in the basement in southern france. Oh, sure, I've tried it. But I will do everything in my power to take that camper out. It's a habit I have to break.
