Sennheiser PC140 is what I use. Extremely comfortable for long sessions (a lot of behind the ear headphones aren't comfortable after an hour or two).

well on my powerbook laptop i got a built in mic so i got off the hook with not buying one.

i use a headset. i was just saying how i dont need to buy a mic.

As long as you (generic you... not you specifically) are using a push-to-talk key, background noise isn't a big issue.

The more annoying case is someone who doesn't use a headset mic and uses the voice-activation mode. (Then you get to hear them answer the telephone, yell at the dog, listen to kids in the background, door slamming, listen in on an argument with the S.O., etc.)

PIT i bought a logitech USB 250 head set and it works great...

i was just on barb .80 with wolf & silver, and there was a lot of static goin on. what going on with it? silver said it might be something with the new vent change? its kinda pissing me off that i can't really hear that many people while playing, defeats the purpose.

it can't be the new vent change cause ive played with tons of people from mob (too many to name now) on barb .80 and vent was fine. So maybe something was going on at the moment, but I'm almost positive it will clear up.

uninstalled the old client and downloaded and installed the new beta client?

I'm still running the vent for windows, ver 2.3.0 and i'm not having any problems.

i did that, druid. but some kids still don't come in right. Silver said he couldn't hear me at all. which isn't good because that guy friggin cracks me up.

This has been a large part of the issue.

While it may sound fine to you using the older client, the real problem is going to be for everyone else.
The reason for the new beta client is improvements in the transmission side.
Not what you hear, but how everyone else hears you.

Then how come Shadow has it downloaded but i don't and then it cuts off for him instead of me? But i don't no what he does but he fixes it somehow and eventually it does it again.
