Just thought I would ask ??
Can the amount of players be increased on MWCM ?? The reason I ask is the server is so full
on the week ends that you can hardily get in the game at all or you have to wait for ever !!
Its worth the wait but 40 players would be GREAT.
P.S. OldManMike & A/T6Pak you two RULE and have been so GREAT & Welcoming
I just wanted to say THANK YOU

The price for the MWCM server depends on the number of player slots the server runs. We currently are paying $50/month for it with 30 player slots. Bumping it up to 40 player slots would bring the cost up to $72/month.
Are you pledging the additional $22/month? :-)
Otherwise, after further careful thought, isn't 30 enough? ;-)

Its impressive how much that server draws.
Just hang in there Sim.
30 is alot of people to be in one map.

How many reserved slots are on the server for MOB's? Now that we've started a process to crown more MW recruits to MOB Regs status those who've shown dedication and commitment to MOB might find themselves a part of the clan and able to use these reserved slots. Additionally, hopefully some will contribute some dollars as per our donation policy, and if that's the case perhaps a 2-4 general slots could be added as well? Obviously, someone like Stell could monitor this and decide.

Here's my 2cents on private slots .. I am against having them on mwcm.
My experience has been that private slots are not used unless the server is already full when the player wants to get in. Otherwise, players typically jump into the public slots. And I've rarely seen someone realize that the server is publically full and so purposefully quit out of the server and come back in using a private slot, thereby freeing up a public slot.
In other words, since mwcm is a 30-slot server, if you made 6 private slots, what you'd do in reality is cut the server down to 24-slots for a majority of run-time. It would also pull-down the server's ranking by taking it down to 24-slots.
Yes, I know Barb and Tuch run fine with private slots... the players there use Vent and so can keep an eye on when the servers' getting full and then realize they should jump out and come back into private slots.
MWCM is full a lot of the time, true, all 30-slots filled to the brim. But my experience is that if I try to get in just a couple of times, I'll get in. With 30 players on a TDM server, there's always somebody jumping out of the server, 'cause it's no big deal to leave in the middle of a round, not like in BAS.
Of course, if we get a bunch of new {MOB}s and/or {MOB} [Regs] all chipping in on the server rental, then sure, we ought to raise it up to 40 slots and make all 10 new slots private. I'd be fine with that.

Steel, i too was going to ask for private slots, but your response changed my mind.
Thanks for explaining.

I'd just like to point out that one of my biggest reasons for wanting to join MOB Regs was for the privledge of getting the password since the server was often full. It is one of the benefits, well, probably the main benefit of being accepted into MOB. So it can increase recruitment.
There's also a way to make you game remember the password so it uses it every time, adding the slot.
My question would be what's the cost to add 4 slots instead of 10? If even a couple of the new recruits donated a few bucks wouldn't that cover the cost?
Really? Getting into private slots on {MOB} servers is one of your biggest reasons for joining? Wow.
So, you are now really disappointed that mwcm doesn't have private slots, even though you're not a regular player there, so it hasn't really hurt you has it? Interesting.
Don't you think that one benefit of being in {MOB} is that you have the right to play on the server and the non-member does not? In other words, why isn't it good enough that if a server is full, you can go into vent and ask someone to see if a non-member spectator is really present on the server, and if not, then kick that non-member to allow you to get on?
To answer your question, it would be about $9/month more for 4 more slots.
this server is popular , just be patient like the rest. today was the first time i had a problem getting on but managed to get 4 maps in . we shouldnt go in and take 4 slots just because mob players are now starting to play there.

No, it doesn't affect me. It doesn't mean I or anyone should ignore what we think is a legitimate request of a new clan member because it does not derive personal benefit. Just as I kick started the drive to get MW recruits promoted to MOB Regs even though I didn't know them. SO with all due respect, perhaps you condescending, mocking attitude is somewhat misplaced.

I BELIEVE MOD WAS JUST STATING THAT ONE OF THE ATTRACTIVE BENEFITS OF JOINING MOB IS THE FACT YOU ARE GIVEN A PW FOR A PRIVATE SLOT. Sorry for caps, wasn't trying to yell! I agree that public slots should not be taken away from any server. Adding more slots to the server would be the only option IMO! Depending on the general consensus, i would think putting an additional couple slots on top of the 30 that are there now would not bust MOB financialy. If the need is there, why not? Anyway, let's cut down on the personal attacks, no matter how subtle, and focus on the issue!

Question? Would a second server be a good or bad idea?
Maybe a poll and/or put it in the server messages; or ask the people that play the server.

OMM gave me the okay to move mwcm inside the {MOB} server, so I just now made that happen. MWCM is now at 8.9.4.82:28961
There's no problem in making slots private now, so let 'er rip on how many private slots you think is appropriate, what power you need to feel in your quiet little computer nook all alone, lol.

4?
Maybe we should let the server fill up first before thinking of the private slots. First off we have just changed the IP address, this will cause a minor problem for the server for the next few weeks. Currently we have both servers still running. In my opinion adding private slots right now is not in the best interst of filling the MW server.
IMO we should get the server populated again, then think of adding private slots if needed. I think that Steel has done a fine job running the server. If in the future we find it populated to the point that our MOB and Regs cannot get in, then add the private slots.

Dear Steel and all the Mob Family.
I know I'm new to the mob fam & did not mean to stir the pot and start a bunch of sh_t

if I did then for that
I'm sorry but I thouhgt the question needed to be asked about MWCM.
First of all let me say I think Steel and all the Mob adminiseration staff do a great job on behalf of all
the mob family and for that THANK YOU
ALL SO MUCH !!!!
I have played MWCM almost exclusivly for quiet some time and by far it is the most popular server that
mob has! and Yes I did think that becoming a mob reg would allow me to get in with a password even if
the server was full BUT that is
NOT the why I asked to join the mob fam it was for all the GOOD PEOPLE
and Commentary that make up the mob family !!
But try joining a game on MWCM on Friday , Sat , or sunday nite, Be prepared to wait awhile Quite
awhile and thats OK it's worth it !! But
Anyway I think 2-4 slots reserved for mob regs is needed and would benefit all involved.
PS Even throw I'm layed off right now I would like to be the first to donate what I can for just that cause.
PSS Thanks go's out to all for listening to me VENT LOL

Hey Tim don't worry about "stirring the pot" we have open discussion here to figure out what the best course here is. I think you'll find that most times everyone hashes it out in a very respectful manner. Otherwise we lash them 10000000 times with a wet noodle..... and here's my two cents about the server. I actually spent a little time there today and yesterday. A little wild for me but I might actually play there some more. I think that the servers should have private slots for MOB members. If for no other reason we pay for the servers. Regardless of it's popularity they don't pay for it. It's great that it's popular and other people come here but for instance I tried yesterday for almost an hour to get in. Someone else jumped in before me everytime. I got in and there were a couple of ppl in spectate. I tried to kick them but didnt have enough power points on that server. Which is understandable as I'd hardly ever been on the UO servers before. I think with a little effort from the MOB people who play there the private slots can work well. We just need to keep reminding each other to reconnect to the private slots if the server begins to get full. Just my nickel's worth...

LOL Looks like Genocide Junkie has a new addiction... better keep an eye on him COD 2 guys...haha
thats one thing i noticed sunday was there were like 4 specs in and the server was full , is there a time limit for the specs? the map rotation is alot of fun so ive been playing mostly there the last few days, sunday was the only day i waited.
Angus Thermopyle

Undead, I think that four specs is a rarity for that server. Usually there is maybe 1 spec. I have been warning them when I am on especially when they are commenting on the game play such as giving away positions. I think Steel has been camping on the server to help get people in the server but I could be wrong.
There's just no problem with the server being full at this point. Since moving it inside the {MOB} server box two days ago, the server's had, at max, 18 people on it at once. So, until we see it get full even just once, the rest of these things, e.g. private slots, kicking specs, etc., are moot points.
I'll make sure that as soon as the server is getting full again, I'll put in private slots and disallow continuous spectating.
Thanks Steel,
As GI Joe always says " anything can be fixed with a little duct tape!"
Thanks Joe, I probably got your quote wrong...LOL

I can't imagine playing that with 64 ppl on it to be honest.... Would be INSANE. Played again lastnight when it hit me I might need to make adjustments to my settings... duh. Went from eh to 1st in .06 seconds

Pretty fun. I'll probly spend a little time there here and there.

i just want to clarify that i don't think we should change a thing. on Sunday i was on early had no problems getting on but from 12 to 5 it was a mad house and was the only time frame I've ever had a problem getting in . i don't think we should warn the specs but if they do a whole map theres others (not just mob)that want to join so then it would be OK i guess . there are people who watch their stats and always start a map fresh and i can tell you that if i finally was able to log on and was waiting to join a new map and got kicked id be furious . with the ip change its always weird and I'm confident steel will get it back to normal but for now i think we should make no changes what so ever.

Sorry everyone, but I have to ask this, but am I missing something? Steel moved the server over to our box. It is having a little problem filling up consistently at the moment, but I'm sure it will soon (In fact, I would guess it HAS been full by times?). So, since there is no cost now to adding the "MOB" extra slots, what is the reason for waiting? Add them, done, fintio, let our new MOB Regs guys enjoy them, as well as a few of the other MOBs apparently trying it out. If the server isn't full, there still is no harm, no foul> They'll just be unused as opposed to non-existant. But I'm sure they'll be used some.

OK, I think I was missing that the server has 64 slots now! Yikes! Will the server handle that if that many people start coming in?
