It is not my place to tell anyone how to run their server and that is certainly not what this post is intended to do. What I want to point out is the attitude and nastiness someone receives when asking for legitimate help, particularly when that someone is a friend of ours.

Silver did not ask me to post this so let's end all speculation now. I saw it and was truly taken back by it, so I decided to post it as I couldn't believe what I was reading.

For those who don't know, Missionary is currently not compatible with MACS. One of the main reasons is that there are few if any MAC hacks available. Missionary does have an option to let MAC players play, even on a Missionary ONLY server. You can even tell what type of computer someone is trying to connect to the server with in case you think someone is trying to pull your leg. (ie: Tell you that they have a mac but in reality they have a pc)

Half the people he recruited were people we wouldnt. The only good ones he got were Rocky and Bullwinkle and a few others, but all of a sudden he is too good to let Silver play on his server? A few things I think needed to be addressed here
1) I don't consider him as stealing my mod, it's available for people to download.
If it wasn't, than my opinion would be different
2) As far as the recruiting of players who we wouldn't, that not a problem as long as they are not actively recruit from our server. Everyone is free to play where ever they want. If someone also plays on their server and is recruited there, than so be it. If it's a matter of someone coming to our server for the specific reason of recruiting people than I think most clans would consider if very gay.
Something else I think needs to be said. Concerning the idea that some of these people are not the type of people we would recruit. Well that could mean something very different to different people depending on how they look at it.
Recently someone made the rather idiotic accusation that the idea of the Regs was a pathetic attempt to brand players to insure the survival of our server.
To anyone who thinks that, I would have to reply, the idea of underclans has been around as long as multi-player gaming has been, don't know where the hell you've been. If MOB was my own personal clan, it would be 100 players strong and the only real requirement would be having fun.
Well MOB isn't my own personal clan, it's a clan made up of people together for the specif purpose of competitive play. Since the competitive play is what MOB is about, there is of course understandable requirements regarding recruitment.
Simple fact, most people don't possess the skills needed for competitive play.
BTW I can say this without being insulting because I know at least half the regs would kick my ass in a match since any skill I once had was quickly lost when I stopped playing every day.
I saw no reason not to create a little niche for those people who either don't have the required skills for competitive play or for those who like me just want to have fun. If anyone whats to leave and join another clan, no hard feelings and best of luck to you.

I don't know why Occ chose to reply to Silver the way he did but I would agree it was a lot more heavy handed than it needed to be.
I should also point out the only reason Silver would be kicked from a server requiring missionary is THEY didn't setup CI correctly. There is no legitimate reason not to allow MAC players on a missionary server, this is the whole reason that option is in the setup. If anyone had concerns about a MAC user they could easily force screenshots. Unlike PC's there are no MAC hacks that can bypass the screenshot function. If a MAC player is cheating it will show up in any screenshots forced on them. Silver said he would be more than happy to email in any screenshots that Hoods wanted to force on him. I don't know why that wasn't enough to settle the topic right there. Of course at this point I don't see why he would bother returning to your server anyway.

Ok, no one needs to respond to this that hasnt been around for awhile but we all know Occ (for the older guys), he is a good guy and this is just a misunderstanding that just needs to be sorted out and thats it. Honestly, if ppl want to turn this into some sort of flame war with him and his clan, grow the fuck up because he has been around for a long time and supported everything that MOB and the others have put out.

nobody is really flamming OC that bad. The only real thing i read so far was that his clan is going to his head. Now crafty, wouldnt u agree that his comments on his boards sounded a little off character for him? I think alot of people are confused and arent understanding where the harshness is coming from. He always seemed like a nice guy to me even with the little amount that i was in servers with him and on vent. He didnt seem like the type to be like this, expecially to someone affiliated with MOB.

wow im totally shocked this ended up here.
well thank you guys for the support, like i said shocked! well i wouldnt have thought anything of it if it was not one sided. i went in the server with my tags on and it kicked me. no problem next time i entered d-day larry was in and told me to take the tags off, like he was doing so we played for a while. like a map or something. it took a minute for me to get my game on and once i did (stopped getting owned) thats when they banned me for the day. actually think it was sammy. seeing what happened with ashe, i gave up trying to make things right and explain myself. on top of forcing SS on me the i can make the cfg work and show its running by entering an cheat activation code, which will make the cfg tattle on me. sounds gay but thats what it does. dont know whats all going on over there, but it seemed a little gay. im not worried, next time the regs will own them.

this is one of the reasons i enjoy being arond here. on top of it look what happened to ashe. screwed up to me. oh well really no reason to travel to far from here anyways!

I too was shocked by his actions. I thought we were all gaming friends. I helped him out with servers, putting stats on servers, adding things to his site etc. Then all I did was invite his members to play COD and the Spearhead maps, same thing I did to TLD. Tld didnt delete my posts (twice) and send me a nasty private message telling me to stop posting, in fact they were very gracious and thanked me for the invitation.

I probably went a little overboard, due to the fact that I was completely blindsided by him being a total asshole, but oh well. After I read what he did to Silver, fuck him. Silver has been around for along time, he is always polite on servers and on others forums. He has never started anything on either one of ours. He didnt deserve that treatment from him. If he wants to be an asshole, everyone knows that I can be one as well.

This is why I stick to MOH:AA but, maybe I should pick up a National Inquirer once in awhile

Also, dont bash on Phats, he is a good kid that has never started anything. He is just sticking up for the leader of his clan, which any good member should do. This is not about Hoods, they have been nothing but apologetic about his actions so far, this is about their leader.

After being contacted several times about your hacked board by the time I got around to view it, I figured it would be fixed soon. So in stead of reading a post here and there, I spent 5 minutes on a sendkey macro, ten minutes later I had a saved HTML copy of every post on your board starting with number 1 and ending around 1150. Now I'm sure someone can or will say I was an asshole for doing it, but oh well. I must say it was very enlightening reading.

Oc got to be so well known and liked because he was always so laid back.

I think it was a blatant disrespect to silver who we all know as honorable to be treated that way on a server that has "friendly" ties with the MOBs.

I have respect for all the Hoods Ive played against a good many of them and have never seen OCc or any of them act like that.

An apology should be made to Silver, Occ couldve been having a bad day and was venting. Either way it shouldnt be dismissed however it shouldnt be a big deal either.

No Disrespect to Oc or anything but, I have noticed he's been a little anal lately. We've been playing alot since the new server went back on line. I always remember Oc as being a happy go lucky fellow while playing on MOB with him a while back. It's seems now, he's mixed; one day he'll be cool as hell and the next day he'll be a real smart ass. It's seems as though he always has nothing but smart ass remarks to say to us about missionary and owning us and shit. I never said I was better then him, I just enjoy playing with the MOHAA community. I don't play there anymore for that reason. Cookey, KingCobra, LongHual, and most of the rest of Hoods, Inc are awesome guys, I miss playing with them. Just not worth the hassle. Peace. Buzz.

Well this certainly has gotten out of hand. Perhaps we should address whether this should be here or not, and then maybe we wouldn't have this awful mess of name calling and badmouthing. Real as you stated, you have no intentions of interfering with how people run their servers, and I am taking the same approach as well here.

However, I question your reasoning as to why you posted it. In all likelihood you knew that there could be a serious shit storm, but perhaps you didn't and maybe I'm wrong. It was Silver who was bad mouthed, and Oc does owe him an apology in my eyes, but posting this here only creates animosity and more drama.

If Silver had wanted to insult or complain about Oc and alert others in the community about his new erratic behavior, so be it. But is it your place, or Druid's, or mine, or anyone else's to post about it another public forum so that others may chime in about their new-found distaste for Oc. Certainly you don't post everything in your own public forums that surprises or shocks you.

And this post in no way is designed or intended to start a flame war between myself and anyone who cares to respond. I posted this because I didn't like the way Silver was treated. As I stated in the OP, Silver did not come to me asking me to post it, in fact Silver didn't bring it up to me at all. I saw it and decided to post about it. I would do the same for anyone that I consider a gaming friend or good acquaintance. If I am not mistaken, I stuck up for you not too long ago in some thread on the DMG forums regarding some BS you were getting.

As for whether or not its my place or anyone elses place to post it here, well that's up for everyone else to decide for themselves. I felt the need to post it and so I did. I do not have any regrets. It's a public forum and people can post whatever they like. Posts are not deleted here. As for my right to post it here, well I obviously have the right to post whatever I want here.

Admins who treat players the way Silver was treated (the good guy who is just out to have fun) is wrong and leaves people with a bad taste in their mouth and is not good for the community.

If Silver was caught hacking like Squirel Lover a/k/a Your Obsession or was just a trouble maker in general, then that type of treatment is certainly understandable and justified. But this was not the case.

Like I said, he can run his server anyway he sees fit. Likewise, I can post about what I see fit.

Like you, I am not flaming you or anyone else who posts in this thread. Everyone is pretty much just stating their opinions. However, like in any thread on any forums, if someone opens themselves up to be flamed, then flamed they probably will be.

Ice, I saw it on a post in the Hoods forums. It is a public forum for all the world to see. If someone in Hoods didn't like the way Silver was treated and didn't want everyone else to see the post, then one of the Admins at Hoods should have deleted it from their public forums.
