Six of the seven Marines killed Monday died near Haditha, and the seventh was killed in a suicide bombing in Hit to the southeast. The extremist Ansar al-Sunnah Army claimed responsibility for killing the six Marines.

Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9/11. See I could understand the invasion of afghanistan, because Bin Laden was supposedly in Afghanistan. I have heard of that, I don't know from where. The GOP should have used that as the platform for invading. The WMD argument was unnecessary. Saddam had already violated every UN sanction placed upon him, and that's all the reason any member of the UN needed to attack. Hell, it should have been done over a decade ago when the original ultimatum ended. But no, like what happened with Hitler, the UN let Saddam go with just a slap on the hand instead of the promised military force.

Another good reason for invading would be Saddam's slaughter of hundreds of thousands of Kurds. Or his torture chambers that drip sulfuric acid on helpless prisoners. Or the attacks on our helicopters. Or his sponsorship of terrorist training camps. Or his burying squadrons of flight-ready MIG fighters in the desert.
