Seeing as how this is a gaming website, we may as well make a game out of it

The theme song to Hogan's Heroes made me want to learn the drums and the theme song for F-Troop was the first song I ever figured out for myself on the piano. Pretty funny, or is it sad, to realize how much influence these old TV shows had on one's life.

I think it's all part of what molds us in life,- including TV.... remember alot of people mocked all the talk shows -Sally Jessee Raphael, Donague etc,. but I think they were incredible in getting people to open up about their lives and ultimately help society break out self-centered-mode and in so-doing contribute to society seeking solutions to problems we at one time kept private/saw no answers to.

Furthermore the day after a tv show we find it a good way to communicate with others rehashing the plot with others-we kinda find people to gravitate towards too when we find out they like the same shows as ourselves just as much.... and that's a good thing.

For instance me and Cross if we ever meet up would curl-up on the floor rolling in fits of laughter+crying tears no matter how many reruns we'd watch of 'Fawlty Towers'! -Funny Walk for the tourists..... laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
-Snowman-
Come on guys.... we can't forget these two classic shows!
If you were like me growing-up in the 70's you NEVER missed episode.

I have to say that if you were to mention the Six Million Dollar Man to me my first response would be "Vs. the Sasquatch", but it had been so long I didn't remember a thing about it. Thanks for that.

And the one show aside from MASH that my dad let me watch with him as a very young child was Emergency. It actually hurt me to hear about the problems Rampart had in the '90's. It went so against the show's premise that it really effected me. Also I had to call 911 recently and aside from the reason for the call I actually thought about the intro to that show... the buzzing noises.
Great memories.
Shred
I vaguely remember the Sasquatch.

Steve Austin was kinda drugged out and the shadowy Sasquatch shows up. And Oscar Goldman turns into a bad guy. Its very vague now.

I used to watch Emergency. Rampart. rampart. rampart !!!!!!

It was a perfect fit for the show.

Whoa got the chills on that one Robert!
That was a pretty cool show to bad it only lasted like... not even a year?
Thought the story line to the series started off pretty strong but as the shows went on it went limp.
Shred
Oh snap.

All right, here's a couple that I think are regional as well as old, so I don't know if anyone will recognize them. Anyway, here are some more kiddie shows from my youth in the NYC area:

Magic Garden
This first one is Magic Garden. This show stopped in the '70's, so clearly it's being re-run given the G rating at the start of the video. I totally loved this show as a small child.

Kids Are People Too
This was the offspring of Wonderama. It may have been national, but I believe it came out of Baltimore.

I couldn't find a Romper Room that looked familiar to me, sigh.
There was also a regional PBS show that had a man with a mustache reading childrens stories as an older woman drew with pastels to illustrate the story. The theme was I think "Take Five" by Dave Brubeck, or a different Brubeck song. It was definately Brubeck, though. It would have either come out of NYC, Philly, Boston or Chicago. I wish I could remember the name, I watched that show religiously.

I've got the Electric Co. greatest hits DVD collection. I swear it helped my kid learn how to read by age 4.
Looking at the side I'd totally forgotten about 3-2-1 Contact. I loved that show too! When Nickleodeon first came on the air I think it stole some of PBS's viewers. I know I started watching this and this.

Damn them Dukes whrecked a few Chargers. Catherine bach with the little Camel toe. mmmm

Damn straight, they did such an incredible job on that show.
My sons teacher got a laugh when he TOLD HER about learning to read some words from "The Electric Company"
( Remember the two silhouetted faces which would both say parts of a word, then join them together )
Look at the people who did most of the show.
Morgan Freeman
Rita Moreno
Bill Cosby
No wonder it was such a success.
Now the only educational programing aimed at little kids is shows like Dora and Diego.
Which I guess is great if you need to learn Spanish.
