I can understand bilbo baggins point of view on this one, It took me sooo long to get on the server. Luckily FK had the time and patience to copy over all his pk3 files for me and I really appreciated that.

It seems stupid that whoever developed sv_pure doesnt allow for other maps to be easily added. Or maybe we could just get some more maps added to mob2. (I dont want to add more work for FK though !)

I only ever noticed cheating when people found holes in the map, like the v2 rocket site, and that was annoying, but the server is soo quiet now only 4 players at the moment 9pm GMT when it used to be 18-20 players.

It seems when the US wakes up things are better, but the mods really seem a problem for the UK players !

hey FK your going to have to help me out at some point, I haven't been on the server in at least two weeks. I've been away for one week and haven't had to much time to mess with this, but i have uninstalled and reinstalled at least ten times now and i haven't figured it out yet. I just got another computer and i'm been messing around with it. but i'll be back to my old one trying to fix this on the weekend. will you be availible this weekend? When everyone is on equal ground so to speak, then true talent comes out....not mods.

FK is an absolute STUD for his work and contributions, the minor hassle of not being able to load maps for other servers is worth it to me.

I simply stopped playin the other servers....LOL

The number of players has declined slightly I have noticed, yet i do see the same gents out there on a reg basis and have to admit having the Server to ourselves is quite fun!

well i got it fixed so FK i don't need any help. I can't believe what it was though i feel like a total fool. I'll say it because who knows someone else might make the same dumb mistake as me LOL
in the target, i miss read it and put a d instead of cl i can't believe it that was all it was that was holding me up. well maybe that well help someone, don't make the same mistake LOL

First let me address the issue with other servers. The easiest solution to this problem is to do what I did since I have to test other maps all the time and I could not get on the server otherwise. Go to your MOHAA directory and duplicate or copy and paste the entire thing right next to the first one. Now rename the directory to MOHAA2 so you will have 2 copies of the game, one for example at C:\program files\ea games\MOHAA and one at C:\program files\ea games\MOHAA2. Now go to the desktop and copy and paste the shortcut you use to launch the game (the one you had to add the set command to). Rename the icons so you know which is which, and right click on the new one. Change the paths to the new directory name like the example above and you are done. Now you can add anything you want for custom files to that game and keep the other copy for the pure server. It is still a pain but at least you can play anywhere you want that way.

Now the issue of why should we keep doing this. If this game, and our servers are going to be popular you have to look in to the future to answer your questions. A year ago I said without new maps, this game will grow stale and people will quit playing it so we launched a campaign to get new maps going on the server. Months went by with sometimes 3 to 5 people on the server and many people told me "just forget it... we would rather play old maps with 20 people than new ones with 5". Now people came to the server BECAUSE they were getting the new maps and it is very succesful. As to the issue of cheating you can see now the same thing happening if you really look carefully. Talk to anyone who plays on a MOHAA server and they will tell you the community servers are FULL of cheaters right now and I know MANY good players who are leaving the community in droves because of the cheating. I scan the cheat sites everyday and I am telling you the guys are turning attention to Spearhead now and you will see the cheating grow.
In addition, I can almost handle the neon skins since I think you are correct that if that were our only issue we should just suck it up and ill them. Now however we have wall hacks, door and window hacks, and others. Things that let people actually shoot you through a door or window and see you behind a wall. This is over the top in my opinion and these hacks will ruin this game. I will tell you guys that this whole thing has been way more of a pain in the butt for me that any of you but I HAVE to fast forward to 6 months from now. Then I believe people will be leaving the game and one of the last remaining servers will be MOB #2. Why? It will be a place people can go where you will see new maps, great competition, and no woorries about cheaters.

Were people cheating on MOB #2? Yes, Was I usually at or near the top in kills? Yes, but I WILL tell you in the 2 weeks since we purged this server of cheaters the games are almost always REALLY good games. Peoples scores are VERY even and the battles are fierce and intense. I submit to you guys that not only does this stop cheating but it actually makes a DIFFERENCE in game play.

Well said FK! MOB#2 is the only server I play on. You keep a clean sandbox for the rest of us to play in. ;-)

Yo Sigma...I got that same damn message too......I see FK just added the long awaited Map Pack 12 and not only can I not download it, the server is down too.....Holy Shit Batman, We have a problem Houston! I might actually have to go and do something productive today, damn my bad luck! BECAUSE, as we all know, it just ain't no fun playin on another server....I'd rather go without than put up with the senseless crap on other servers.......So hopefully we can get this situation resolved soon and get back to killin....Peace Bro

*UPDATE* Ok....I just got the download to work....FK must be tweakin things....

Map Pack 12 can be downloaded now. Woohoo! It was looking like yardwork for me. Now we just need server #2 up and running.

I don't get it

Saturday after going throught the original instruction, I was able to get in once. Afther that you I get the boot. Today I delete the pk3 files and follow different kind of instruction I was also able to get in and then when the riverside2 map loaded I got the boot again. I don't understand.
Is there anything else I can do to get in.
Anybody help.

Well its 2:52 pm and i want my damn #2 server up and running LOL...i played today and I came back and the shit was down again... FK FK FK FK you are our god....fix it so we can waste time on the server LOL ........ It was a dissapointment but FK will get it working ....hes the man.......anyway you guyz having trouble logging on?? well i did too but thankfully to these forums i get my ass back on the track..

I still don' t get it. I got the map pack 12. and today I was able to get on to brest map, I now there Wintershlaf map and I still get the boot. Anyone??

I finally was able to download map packs 1-12, yet Pack Combo's 1 and 2 are now gone. Aren't Combo Pack 1 & 2 what I need, not the individual packs except for 11 and 12?

So, I downloaded each of the packs and got CRC errors on some of the installs....any ideas how to fix it?

I know I read somewhere about someone else getting the CRC errors, HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok Now I can only play in the original maps of the game. When the new maps load, I get loaded up to 80% and then it says server disconected. I don t know what else to do now.
Please anyone help me. This is driving me crasy. The other server are so lame.

i have reinstalled a few times. removed everything from registry as well. i still can not get into the server. it starts to load the game and then the server disconnect message comes up. wtf. help. miss killing everyone.

Slacker....make sure you have the correct map packs and no ther files.

Also, be sure you have the intro skip done correctly...when you start the game you should go directly to the "lobby" and have NO INTRO MOVIE.

If these are correct....post more info about the trouble you are having and what steps you have taken to correct it

OK a few things here. First I ran out of bandwidth this month yesterday and had to purchase more. I don't mind it but I can't support the combo pack downloads and the regular downloads at the same time. I have fixed that issue and you should now be able to download files.

Second, I redid ALL of the packs from 1 through 12 to make sure they contained the EXACT same files that the combo packs did and reloaded them on the server today.

Third, I took all packs off of filefront downloads (which some times gives crc errors) and put them on my server so all downloads should now be clean.

Chi I would suggest based on the following that you redownload all 12 map packs and start over one more time. From now on the packs will stay as is and you will need ALL 12 map packs to get on the server as I possible could put any of those maps in the rotation any time.

Finally, I have replied to some emails from some of you but let me say it again here. I have had 100 percent success in helping people get in the server when I talk to them on the phone and it is the quickest and easiest way to do this. There are many things that can go wrong and it is very hard to debug it through email or this forum. If you have tried and can not get it working email me at jsemberger@sc.rr.com with a phone number, and some times and dates when you could be available to talk and I will call you. I can usually get it taken care of in 15 to 20 minutes and you will be in business.

I figured it was something to do with having the incorrect map files on my part.

Keeping the individual map packs I think is a very good way to go, keeps it simple and idiot monkey proof........er........hey, it makes sense to me...LOL!

Sorry about the headache-one of my buddies used my rig and somehow managed to DL a goddman worm virus.....hence I had to relaod my stuff....I am very picky when it comes to my rig setup!

Basically i followed the instructions given by FK. I also installed the individual map packs again today.

My startup shortcut is fine...skips the intro. I have never loaded other maps, mods, or other bs.

When i try to get on the server it loads the map and for a split second i get into the server and then it boots me.

I have tried going through game spy but does not matter.

ok, i also downloaded map pack 12, 13, 14 onto my computer, makin my complete collection 11, 12, 13, 14 and i cant log onto Server #2. i figured since 11+ were all newer they would work. i get to the connecting screen then i just go to the MOHAA Main area. do i have to delete the others? or any thoughts as to what i may be doing wrong. fyi i do now have map pack 1 and 2 on my comp. that was mentioned in the list above, but wasnt clear as to use the 2 newest ones, or map pack 1 and 2.

I got all packs on my comp now, installed them all and it works great. forget my last msg

This may seem stupid, but where are the two combo packs?? All I see are 15 Files in the spearehad server #2 combo packs

the combo packs were taken off because of size....just dl packs 1-15 and you should be good

I did a reformat of my entire computer last night, but had map packs 1 - 11 backed up on my other drive from a few months ago. I reinstalled them as well as 12 - 15 downloaded from the server tonight and....

No dice.

The map starts to load, the when I should be kicking all of your asses I get kicked with a server diconnected message. Now my question is: did you change the mappacks since a few months ago? IE SHOULD I RE-DOWNLOAD ALL OF THE MAPPACKS?
