It sounds like you might need to go into the registry and delete it from the software and "all users" groups. Additionally, and other users who may have an account on your box.

As a opt. to sv_pure a new mam prog. will be out within 2 weeks. It will be a full version and not a beta so now you could see what your clients see during the game and it will still allow anyone with mods to play or with custom maps that you don't run.

FK I will get the updates and try again. Basicly when I go and connect from Gamespy or Spearhead I get the Loader screen (Image, sometimes with a progress bar depending on map, e.g a Flughafen screenshot) and then the game freezes. Typically this occurs at about 1/2 way loading the game. I can only tell this on the screens with a progress bar that tells me how loaded it is. These seem to be rare on a lot of maps now.

If I then give the three finger salute (CTRL-ALT-DEL) switch to task manager I see that MOHAA has gone to NOT Responding. I can kill the task check gamespy and 9 times out of 10 there I am listed with a ping of 999.

I have seen 8-9 other people who seem to briefy appear with pings of 999 in the game who then change to ? before disappearing.

I do not have any other mods, this is a clean install of all the products, my only question unaswered was is there any language dependent files on the server that sv_pure compares. As far as I am aware the UK version is identical to the US.

I have all three patches
Mohaa patch
2.11 SH
2.15 SH

The only thing I dont do diring the install is re-install Gamespy, but this does not appear to have any files in mohaa folder, except maybe that fpupdate.exe.

Where are the updates ?

Brother Mainard brings up a point I have talked about before. When you download files your computers web softeare will ususlly "cache" a copy of the file in memory. This makes downloads quicker for you but can cause some issues. When you select redownload your PC will sometimes just go back and get the version it has in memory and drop it down which is the OLD one. To ensure that this dos not happen you need to save the file to a DIFFERENT place on your hard drive than you did before. This is why I have told you to do this over and over. So again, if you are having issues downlaod map pack 11 over again and save it ti a DIFFERENT place. then try it. OR you can go in to the mainta directory and delete Crete and Lorient and it will work. I had to take those maps out since they were causing issues with pure.

Look, surely it should be time to consider removing this sv_pure mod, Im not just saying that because I cant get on. I watched the server today over a period of 2-3 minutes and there were nearly 20 players failed to connect. The server is running with 8-10 players max. Normally its 19-20 and difficult to get on. The mod has been on long enough now to expect at least 15-20 players to be on !

Lets have some feedback on this, because its obviously not a stable mod. I have followed the reinstall to the letter and used all the correct patches and maps and it just isnt working. This is not just me but a lot of players. I agree with the idea of the mod, no-one likes cheaters, but I cant see this being the way to go. It wont take long and people will find other places to play. I personally do not want to as mob2 is certainly the best server out there.

Why not setup a test server with sv_pure and leave mob2 as standard. We can keep to the FK map packs but test on another server.

Can we put this to the vote ? I understand as Im not a mob clan member this isnt going to go down well, and you are well within your rights to tell me to f#ck off.

what do you all think ?

May help some newer folks, I sure don't want to add to the problem, but I copied my entire MOHAASH folder and renamed it (c:\Games).

Then I did a complete uninstall of the orginial folder C:/Programs/EA Games. Then I just did a complete new re-install following FK's instructions to the letter. The only issue I had was that when I went to install SH it would only let me do " update files or remove files" . I hit update and it loads the entire SH add on.


I put two different icons on my desktop and can now play a SV_Pure server ( MOB ) and when I want to play somewhere else..(which is rare) I just click the older version with all the other maps and mods and they both seem to work fine.

Smokehouse look at it this way you can get on and play SH whether SV_PURE runs or not, your penalty is less than ours. But considering this issue is why I suggested considering another server.

sokhar , obviously I dont check out the server during the peak US hours as I am in bed by then! Gotta sleep sometime. The MOB server does well because there are lots of different players and its well run, if you cut off a large proportion of the players you will end up never playing anyone new! If thats what you want your heading that way already. I used to play most days and you would see a few of the same people time and again, but there was a decent rotation of players also. Watching lastnight there seemed to be just 6-8 players 2 * {MOB}, 2 * {420} and 3 others. I saw over a 2 minute period over 10 players fail to connect. I kept watching over a couple of hours and also saw loads of the regulars fail.

I feel your pain SV but have patients (or how ever you spell it) time cures all wounds and we'll get there some how.

Ok fellas....I found out why I can get in sometimes and not other times and its got me baffled. If I install patch 2.15 BEFORE i go into the server I can get in as long as i dont close out my computer. If i shut down, when i come back I have to reinstall patch 2.15 again and I can get in. The 2.15 isn't staying in my files. Any suggestions??

To all: Most if not all of you have not been around from the beginning of MOB #2 so you will not appreciate the way i run the server. Last week, my server was busy almost 24 hours a day and is one of the most popular Spearhead servers around. The reason for this is that I had the determination to stick with it almost a year ago. That is when I first decided that I would run a server with user made maps. When I put the first map on the server would go from full (on an old map) to empty on a new map and I would spend 15 minutes by myself looking at the screen while people kept trying to get in over and over. Over time.... several months and a lot of work and personal helping slowly people began to get the map packs and start getting on the server. Over the months BECAUSE we stuck with it people started flooding to the server and becoming regulars. Now you guys don't come there brcause you like me, you come there because the server is doing things that you don't get on other servers.
Now we are at another of those crossroads moments and though it is very frustrating for some of you, when the smoke clears MOB 2 will be a Spearhead server that has no equal. As of now, we are offering to the public a server with a ciustom weapons mod, 20 plus user made maps and new packs coming again soon on a regular basis, AND a server that is running sv_pure as well as CI cheat protection which means that server is one of the most cheat free servers on the internet. Is it going to be a painfull month or 2? yes. Is it worth it? yes.
Finally let me say that I have yet to find anyone who can nto get on when everything is working as stated so the decision to keep trying or not is up to you. I would hate to lose any of you as regulars and I am trying all I can to help as many as I can, as fast as I can btu with all due respect there will be no turning back on this and pure is here to stay on server 2.

Nope, I haven't been able to get on the server since the mod went on. If I try I get listed as connected in Gamespy or on the server stats but really Im not on. You can tell because the ping shows 999.
Eventually the server clears the connection to ? and then totally removes it.

FK I know what you mean , I do remember running around plenty of maps with no other players. But in this case I will have to consider myself a casualty of war, well and truly fragged!

What entries in the registry caused you a problem ?

svoller the entries just wernt deleting like they should so Fk sent me a reg cleaner just to deleat them from there and that did the trick .. dont know why they wouldnt deleat but i do have 2 hard drives and i think that was part of the problems

You arn't loosing this player! I appreciate all your work FK (and the entire MOB Clan), and I'm simply in withdrawl...not frustrated with anyone. I'm sure this will get squared-away, and the games will continue even better than before. I miss getting owned by most of you! Hope to see you all on the server again shortly.

Hi ya FK!! I can get on ..I just have to reinstall the two upgrades everytime...LMAO!!! The 2.11 and the 2.15. When I load'em up before I enter the game it lets me in...welll...most of the time..hehehe. I suppose it just isnt keeping the install for some odd reason, but I'm in there 'skipper'.....

I had some problems at first and then I unistalled everything completely, and then reinstalled the game, patches, and FK's map packs 1,2 & 11.......then fix your desktop shortcut with the extension FK gives.......and then it should work.

You might have some dumb little thing wrong that you can't figure out.....so I just started over.

FK sorry to bother you again but I still cant get in to the map Brest and the one with the trains i have reloaded packs 1&2 also 11 and still no luck do i need to load all the packs from the files again .. also how do i get the cross ahir and blood patch to work ... when ever you get time at least im in on part of them thanks .. i had a devil of a time reinstalling my game. i looked for every trace, even in the registry, but to no avail. it kept asking me if i wanted me to modify, reinstall, or uninstall the CURRENT VERSION. then at eagames i found the following directions. once you install that file it reinstalls NO PROBLEM ! can't wait to play the cheat proof server. thank you so much!!!

1. Delete the games directory. By default this will be C:\Program Files\EA Games\Medal Of Honor Allied Assault. Then delete MOHAA from the start menu as well. By default this is Start->Programs->EA Games->Medal Of Honor Allied Assault

2. Now load the registry editor. Go to Start -> Run -> type in "regedit" (without the quotes).

3. There is a registry folder that causes this and must be removed. It is found in:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\

You must then select and delete the folder name below found in that above location:
{0DEA94ED-915A-4834-A87E-388D012C8E02}

Delete this folder, then close the registry editor, and reinstall the game normally.

i said INSTALL but meant DELETE that file. follow the directions. it works!

Yeah, I can remember that happened to me once. IT was really difficult to find that info, thanx fer postin' it here! Bound to help some of those having problems.

I did this for three different comps now and it works fine hell I even did it for a freind over the net (AMOK) and it worked fine for him too

Warhorse that problem you are describing sounds very unusal. Brest and the train map (Bahnohf) are 2 of the original maps and are not even add ons so it could be you have some coruption in some of your actual game files. I would try doing a reinstall OVER the existing install just to see if that clears it up. You should not need to do the full uninstall again just reinstall the game over again. Also make sure you clean off your game CDs before the install, based on the types of problems you have been having you may have a damaged or dirty disk somewhere.

FK copied over all the pk3 files from main and mainta on his system to mine and now I can play, I cant believe it. Guess what I went online and no bugger was there! Come out and get shot !!!!!!!!!!!!

Strangely the file dates for the PK3 files on my system seem different to those on FK's. That seemed to cause the issue. Im sure FK can fill anyone in on the exact files but I believe it was the main pk1.pk3 to pk5.pk3 files I suppose it could be a regional problems with the distribution CD's for mohaa. Any other comments would be interesting.

Okay guys this is getting kinda ridiculous. MOB 2 is my favorite server . However, I do have maps from other servers that I use too and it'll be a pain to have to move them whenever I wanna go to MOB 2. Now really, are cheaters that big of a problem?? I don't really notice too many and in the rare case that I do, I kill them anyway. Obviously if they need to cheat, they suck and always get killed easily despite their cheats. What is the big deal here people? Aren't you skilled enough to beat these people with their measly little cheats. I'm sure I'm not the only person that does not want to be hassled every time he goes to play a simple game. Please return the server to normal. It was much better before.

And also, to the writer of this anti cheat software... I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to edit the software so that it doesn't kick people with additional maps. It would certainly solve alot of problems here.
