Ok it's going to be painful to get sv_pure working but in the end it will be well worth it so I am going to be placing it on server 2 starting tomorrow morning. Most if not all of you will not be able to connect to the server since it will ONLY allow the pk3 files specified and that includes custom maps so here is a step by step that will allow you to get on server 2 from here on out.

If you have ever downloaded ANY custom files including any of our map packs the best thing to do is follow this outline EXACTLY. I have found out that there are other files besides pk3's that pure looks at so just deleting them is NOT going to work. Here is what you do and PLEASE read ALL instructions before proceeding.

1) Uninstall ALL MOHAA and Spearhead from your PC. Once uninstalled make sure you have COMPLETELY removed every file by going double clicking on the My Computer.... Local Disk...Program Files...EA Games. Once there you should NOT see a MOHAA folder at all and if you do delete it completely.

2) Reinstall MOHAA, then apply the 1.11 patch. You do not need to start the game just go through the install and apply the patch.

3)Reinstall Spearhead and apply the 2.11 patch first, then the 2.15 patch that just came out.

4) Download the 2 brand new FKs Spearhead Combo map packs that have all the maps from packs 1 through 10. DO NOT install any of the old map packs on your computer. I have redone ALL map packs tonight to make sure the exact versions of the maps are in them. To keep you all from having to download all 10 packs again I have made 2 combo packs for you. You do NOT need both just get the 2 combo packs.

5) Download map pack 11 and overright the pack 11 that is currently on your computer. Now you can install combo packs 1 and 2 as well as map pack 11.

6) You have only 3 ways to get on a server with sv_pure turned on. You can get in at this point from either gamespy or the All Seeing Eye without makeing any additional changes or if you want to get in to the server from in game you MUST add something to your startup icon. Here is how you do that;

First find the Spearhead icon on your computers desktop. Right click on it and chose the properties button. Under the shortcut tab you will see a setting called "target:" with the following typed in the box:

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\moh_spearhead.exe"

you need to add the following to the end of the line AFTER THE QUOTES without changing anything else:

+set cl_playintro 0

Now your line should look something like this:

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\moh_spearhead.exe" +set cl_playintro 0


You may be using another drive letter such as D: or E: don't worry. DO NOT change anything inside the quotes.

NOW you can start playing on the server again without issues. Just remember you can NOT install any other pk3 files like skins, crosshairs, or other mods since doing so will boot you off the server. Once we get this stabilized and working properly I WILL be posting some blood mods and crosshairs that will be acceptable on this server and I will be listening to what you guys want for that.

I know this will be a pain at first but it will be nicte to be finally cheat free.

Ladies and gentlemen..... we have a working sv_pure. I followed these steps on 3 computers now and it works. Server 2 is now running on pure. In addition, I have it running custom maps, and my weapons mod is working.

Testing will continue on CI and it appears to be working for now. If this is the case, with CI and pure server 2 will be 98 percent cheat free at last.

In the coming days I will be posting some acceptable crosshair and blood mods for you all to use but for now I want to make sure it's solid so it will stay stock outside of the maps.

I highly recommend a complete reinstall like I outline here as that is the best way to ensure you get on.

Quick FYI, I was able to get this working "without" reinstalling the games. I removed all non-original pk3 file from main and mainta folders. Added the line to the executable and ran Gamespy. Put on both combo packs and got in with no problems.

You may want to try that versus a complete reinstall folks.....up to you.

Another FYI, I did not need Gamespy to connect either. It is working through the game fine for me.

I followed the instructions to a "T". I can connect just fine directly from the game, but via Gamespy3d, I get a server disconnect message.

Any insight or clue cookies would be greatly appreciated.

Good point on that one Svoller. Hadn't thought about that one myself, but I only play FK's server so I am just a bit biased.....

I know what you mean CrazyIvan, 9 times out of 10 I play Mob2 , but on the odd occassion when its down and I need my shooting fix; I play the trd servers and they have a slightly different set of maps.

OK yes you do not necessarily have to do a fresh install as Ivan pointed out but I had mixed success the other way and wanted to make sure you all had a clear way to do it.

As for other servers remember folks that it is a new world with sv_pure. You can STILL join any other server just like before even with the map packs. There is nothing different here and things will still work as before. However you will probably have issues joining other servers that run sv_pure if they do not have our maps, and if you load someone elses maps you will have trouble joining mine. This is the trade off we get and there is nothing that can be done here. So remember, once you have the proper maps installed, you can join my server, or any other server without sv_pure loaded on it. You will only have issues with OTHER sv_pure servers. I know most peeps are not going to use pure at least for a while cause it takes so much time to get it right so you should have plenty of othere places to play for now.

MOB is the place for me! I guess I really don't have to worry about the other server issues cause MOB is my home! How sad is that? LOL. I had no problems after following your inst. FK, great job buddy. Wish more could get on though, tired of killing same 2 people. Hope their not mad at me.

I made the mistake of not downloading Map Pack 11 again. The old map pack had MP_Lorient_DM.pk3
user_crete.pk3

The new one does not. So if you downloaded the new map pack 11 and are still having problems, just delete the two mentioned files and it should work.

Thanks , I tried that but am still having problems. I deleted all the pk3 files from my mainta folder, including the pak1.pk3 etc and then tried it with just the combo files. This failed with a disconnect message. I copied back the original files and now the system hangs on the loading screen again.

I then reinstalled spearhead having re-deleted all the pk3 files, applied the updates, combo packs and pack11 and still it hangs on the loader screen.

For those people who write maps it is really useful if you include the progress bar!

When I quit out of the application and looked in Gamespy it shows me as on the server! I wish!!!!

So I still cant connect. When I reinstalled I even deleted the whole mohaa folder so there was no way anything was left behind.

any ideas ? I resorted to playing on two other servers and now I feel dirty!!!

Due to other issues I had, I have MOHAA and MOHAASH in different directories on my computer. Can I do another install of MOHAASH into a completely different directory and just use that when I get on MOB or does SV_Pure check my entire computer????? PS..Sgt. ZDog....I"m coming ..so you should have someone else to kill soon.....

DO you get disconnected or stuck on the loader screen ? The last time I hads this issue was when the sv pure mod was tested on the server and I had loads of other maps. I dont have any mods or other maps now so I have run out of things to try.

Maybe someone could send me a dir listing of there mohaa main and mainta folder from a working system ? Just pipe it to a text file and e-mail if you have the time:

That number 5 is a little confusing...I mean, if you have re-installed, why would map pak 11 be overwritten? And is that the correct order? Install map pak 11 FIRST and then the combo paks?

Ok lets try and clear this up. You HAVE to redownlaod ALL the map packs is what I meant by pack 11. The old packs had some maps that were causing problems and I took some maps out , even out of the old pack 11. Guys I have tried this on sevreal different computers and the only time I had trouble getting in is when I did not have a totally clean install. I have watched all day as most of you have tried to get in and almost all of you are getting kicked for an inpure client. I have a monitor screen that tells me this information and I am watching it happen over and over.

The best thing to do is do a complete uninstall first and then go and check to make sure ALL files are deleted. To verify BEFORE you start installing things again do all of your uninstalls. Next from windows double click on your my computer icon. Double click on the hard drive icon. Double click on the program files folder. Double click on the EA GAMES folder. If you see anything in there DELETE it completely. Do not even leave the folder called MOHAA or anything like that. I have tried a fresh install on the same computer I was having problems on before and it worked perfectly.

So make SURE you downlaod the combo pack 1 and 2 AND download pack 11 getting the packs that were placed on the site from LAST NIGHT. Then try it again. This should work and several other people are getting in now .

ANd yes you can use the no cd cracked version.... I am using it myself with no problem.

I did the uninstall, then went to program files and deleted all(everything) that remotely refered to MOH..then reinstalled, following the instructions closely too man. I can see it loading, then at the end I get booted. Well...crap!!! Two uninstalls and still booted..D'OH!!

Does anyone know of another server that is even HALF as honorable as MOB??? It's painfully obvious to me I will never get in here again...LMAOOO!!! Just not the same on the other servers man. 20 rounds to take a man down...may be 40 if you dont hit him right. GEESH!!

For those having problems.......Possibly did you forget that you have to install the 2.11 patch FIRST before you install the 2.15 patch? Just a thought.....I followed FK's instructions to the letter....Actually I went and redownloaded all the patch stuff first, before installing so I would have it handy.......And it worked on the first try.....Just my 2 cents worth...Good luck, cause it gets boring playing 2 on 2....lol

Zieldog and I had a problem at first with his two computers. We had everything installed and couldn't get in. Just for the hell of it, we overwrote the map packs again and it worked. Hope this helps somebody, It's awfully lonely in here. Later

Been trying fellas...followed the instructions to the letter and still get the big whammy. I go in through the game, game spy tends to lag a bit too much for me. Did the 2.11 then the 2.15, the maps etc. Nixon is going to help me again. Going to do the ol' uninstall and reinstall again after work today and hope for the best. I also noted that several other servers are using this PURE thing too so it has to be a good thing....RIGHT?

I cleaned-out my computer last night, did the reinstall, updated the game versions as I went, reinstalled the mappacks, and still I get the big boot! I'll try overwriting the mappacks again, too. Keep us posted FK.

Here's another thought......Instead of overwriting the "old" Map Pack 11, I just completely deleted it and did a fresh download and worked the first time.

I did what CrazyIvan did since I can't seem to find my MOHAA CD. I just deleted all the custom .pk3 files in maint and mainta, and loaded combo packs 1 & 2, and loaded pack 11. Up and running in no time.

This is what should be in AA main" sound, video, cgame86.dll, ffx86.dll, gamex86.dll, and pk 0 through pak 6". This is what should be in AAS maint. folder " configs, maps, music, save, screenshots, sound, video, gamex86.dll, cgamex86.dll, a couple cfg files and the pk files for the new map packs. I hope this helps a little. If you have any other pk files other than the new map ones, take them out, don't delete them just cut and move them to desktop or something till you figure out which is not letting you in.

One last thing to check that I did not see from anyone. MAKE SURE you install the mOHAA game first, then install the 1.11 upgrade for this. Then install spearhead, then install 2.11 updtae, then install 2.15 update. You have to do all 3 updates.

Ok I am not going to get discouraged and bail on this since we have been waiting for ever for decent cheat protection to come along so here is what I am willing to do. I am going to have a toll free conference call set up for tomorrow (March 19th)at 3:00pm EST. If you email me at jsemberger@sc.rr.com I will send you back a passcode to join. I will take 1.5 hours over the phone to walk everyone through a complete install and see if we can get this going. This call will cost you nothing but does cost me so PLEASE before you get on the call have the following downloaded and sitting somewhere on you hard drive. I would prefer you download ALL files again tonight or tomorrow before the call and save them to a DIFFERENT place then before to ensure you have fresh downloads. The files you need are:

MOHAA_UKUS_ONLY_patch111v9safedisk.exe

mohaash_patch_20_to_211.exe

MOHAAS_Patch_211_to_215.exe

Also you will need to have the spearhead combo map packs 1 and 2 and map pack 11 and your original MOHAA and Spearhead game disks.

NOTE even if you have all these already go get them again and save them to a fresh location DO NOT overwrite your old files here. In addition, make sure you uninstall all MOHAA games before the call so we can all start with a clean slate. Hang in there and we will talk to you tomorrow.

just one thing...I'm sure it has been mentioned a thousand times but did everyone make sure to do the "skip intro" thing?
If it's done correctly when you start the game you will have no intro movie and just go right to the "lobby"

Thnaks Nixon and yes PLEASE make sure. I have helped 2 people today on the phone who have spent days trying to get in and could not. Both did not have the +set cl_playintro 0 in their shortcut. As sson as that was put in bingo they went right in. As Nixon said the way you can tell is is you start the game and you get the blue screen with the spinning circle (and that annoying kid) you do NOT have it installed correctly. When the shortcut is correct you should start the game and go straight to the war map screen.

Svoller yours looks fine. PLEASE check your shortcut now.

FK I have the entry on the shortcut already and still no luck, I just tried another complete re-install and the same problem.

I have tried using Gamespy and direct from the spearhead game but the screen just freezes on the loader still. When I eventually quit out , the game becomes "Not Responding" it sometimes shows me as connected in Gamespy! I can still play on other servers so I know its the mod only thats causing this issue.

There must be something else in the sv_pure mod what does it look for ?

Is there any difference in the shipped versions, I brought mine in the UK but I still use the same updates as the US so I assumed it would be the same.

It seems there are a few people like me with the same problem so it cant be coincidence.

Could it be OS based ? I use Win XP Pro SP1!

I have to say I do appreciate all the efforts in this matter and generally running the servers that the MOB team do. They do a great job.

I would rather play SH with a bunch of cheating WANK~@S than not play at all !

Svoller do a dump or your main MOHAA directory and post it just like you did the other 2 directories. If you have the files that you are showing and the shortcut is working you should not have an issue. Let me see what's i the mohaa dir.

FK HELP!! please i have uninstalled everything and then went to the EA folders and deleated them too, i reinstalled MOHAA and added the patch then went to reinstall Spearhead and it want install it ask" remove or repair " so i hit remove thinking there was something i missed and it just exits the screen so then i tried repair and the same thing i have searched and seached for anything haveing to do with either game, even did a search in explore for pk3 files .. i didnt want to waste your time on the phone because i do not have the stuff ready you requested i am just about ready to go get a newe drive and ad it to my pc just so i can play by the way i did a complete scan for virus's and ran ad-awear 6.0 and spybot just to make sure it wasnt something else . I realy enjoy playing here this is the first place i always go but now i cant play anywhere at all lol all suggestion's are greatfully accepted thanks .. WarHorse
